Alex Barbir has announced that he is moving on from football.


Not terribly surprising, considering he had lost the PK job to Beck and the KO job to Stricker. He will always have a place in Flames football lore for his clutch kicks against VT and CCU, to say nothing of the epic picture of him sitting all alone at midfield following the VT win. Awesome young man, who I'm sure will do well in his future endeavors.

He’s also maybe the most jacked kicker in the FBS. He laid the wood on a return man at homecoming.

I think they got him for spearing last year didn't they? LOL. He's a stud.

He should have continued on the kickoff coverage squad. He could get down field and stick'em!

Remember that he didn't transfer here for football from Penn State. I applaud him focusing on what matters most.
