Auburn football's post-spring roster turnover continues.

Defensive tackle Jay Hardy placed his name in the transfer portal on Monday. The news comes four days after outside linebacker Jaren Handy did the same. Both are former four-star recruits.

Hardy was the fourth-highest rated player in the Tigers' 2020 recruiting class, coming in behind only running back Tank Bigsby, defensive lineman Zykeivous Walker and linebacker Wesley Steiner. The Chattanooga, Tennessee, native ranked No. 101 nationally and No. 13 at his position.

But a leg injury slowed the start of Hardy's career and limited him to only one game as a freshman, which came in January's Citrus Bowl. He did not record any statistics.

I would like that one day our athletes would dress up for their photos. A nice navy blue blazer, white collars dresses shirt and a nice tie(red or red/navy blue striped w/LU pin) .

Yeah, maybe. If you're a former Top 100 with 4 years of eligibility left, I'd say the LU jersey is plenty good.

I'm just a classy guy . Just an addition to the characteristics of a gentleman lol.

Maybe team pictures after they're on the team, but when we're recruiting them the players seeing themselves in uniform is a huge selling point.

Exactly, that's all I'm saying .

Any updates on the arrival of Jay Hardy? I checked the roster again and he is still not on it.

He wasn't mentioned on the Flames Central Podcast with Coach Aldridge either.

Hardy would be a bonus for sure, especially since he has 4 years of eligibility, but DT is not a position of need for us at the moment.

July 1 was deadline for 2021 participation. Assume he is redshirting or perhaps he just delayed announcement and waiting to get final clearance? Either way, great to have in the stable.
