That kick looked like it would have been good from 70.

For everyone who picked VT to win, I will be conducting a Football Clinic next week, to Coach you up on college football.
Date/time/location TBA

Ballcoach can you ever just enjoy something without having to brag???
This is the biggest win in our history and that is your first post!!?? I'm just kind of sad for you.
Regardless. I think we have outgrown the 'typical Liberty' moniker. This team is different.
Hugh Freeze and co. have just done an absolutely amazing job building on the foundation that DR and TG helped build.
Great day for Liberty football.

Goodness that was fun.
I’ve been cautiously optimistic about this team because we hadn’t played anyone worth anything.
Today we hung with a true ACC team who has already won four games this year and were the better team for the entire day.
I’m all in now.
Fan em!

Not convinced this is biggest win in program history. VT was waaaaay overrated. Shockingly bad. Entire ACC is supremely weak outside of Notre Dame and UVA.

VT had some help from the refs too.

Considering where we are geographically located, I just can't believe any other win we have had is bigger. I am extremely biased but regardless, HUGE win.

But did he call a local sports radio talk show and make that prediction? No? Huh. I did. Ha
Seriously though. Biggest win in LU football history.

I tried to ask this on the game thread, but I was following on the game thread and trying to understand that final sequence.
LU went for a field goal on fourth down, it was blocked, then recovered but since it was fourth down it should have gone to VT but LU was able to run another play and then kick the game-winning field goal...
I mean Im thrilled as anything that we got what I think is a program defining victory today, but I just need to understand what the heck happened there

FG was blocked, but VT called a timeout to ice the kicker, no play
VT comes out in Hail Mary defense, so we take a quick pass for a first down
Next play, Barbir hammers it home

No play. VT had called timeout.

Sister-in-law just got me two tickets to the wolfpack game so I couldn't tweak her on the win.
By the way, how high can we finish in the ACC standings this year?

Agree. Growing up in SWVA (Hokieland), there’s no doubt this is our best win ever. I understand if it doesn’t seem that way to people outside of the state.

Right now we're undefeated in ACC. If my memory is correct, after the Clemson vs Notre Dame game, LU and winner of that game will be tied for first place.

Trying to get her my thoughts here...
I grew up a Hokie fan. Absolutely loved the Hokies. When I came to LU as a student in 2007, the days of the Big South and non conference games with North Greenville and Tusculum, I thought it would be so cool just to see us on the same field as the Hokies. I got to see that in 2016 and thought we were doing something crazy. To go down to Blacksburg today and pull off the win? I was on the verge of tears when that clock finally hit 0:00. Without a doubt the biggest win in school history.
Jeff Barber told us as freshman that while we may have called ourselves Hokies, Buckeyes, or Sooners, we are now Flames and a part of Flames Nation and should act accordingly. I couldn't be prouder to call myself a part of this family. Fan 'Em! Flames by 90 every day!

I watched on my phone from Lynchburg General Hospital, and it was just what the doctor ordered! A program-defining win, and I think if you take away the turnovers, we would have had a more comfortable win. I can't gauge how good NC State and Coastal Carolina really are, but it's not out of the realm of possibility for us to run the table.
