I help coach a middle school 7-on-7 team that has games at 1 and 2 on Saturdays, so I have been watching the games on tape delay.

My wife put her foot down and said, “You aren’t going this week”. I am definitely starting to get fired up.

I am an LU undergrad and VT MBA , with a sophomore at VT and a freshman at LU, so this game has all sorts of extra meaning. Sent out a family group text this morning with a link to “Fan the Flames” on YouTube to get everyone primed.

Gameday had a full game segment for our game. Consensus was we'd be able to score plenty of points but likely won't be able to stop Tech enough to pull off the win. Rece was hesitant to rule us out and referenced VT laying eggs at ODU and vs JMU. Bear had us on the board but took Tech to cover for the same reasons above.

On my early morning walk, I had 3 consistent thoughts.
1. Go into the 4th quarter with a chance.

Very bummed not to be in attendance. This one has been circled on the calendar at our house since it was announced.

Poole and bollinger hurt a bit. Bollinger is a great short yardage blocker. Poole being out moves caper in top 4 and i presume humes or fuster next. Neither are sexy names but today against vts style both will hurt.

I believe they are going to try and take our running game away and make us beat them passing. Again, I believe in moral victories in this game. However, I hope we can also beat them straight up. A big uphill climb. GO FLAMES.

How cool was it to see us College Gameday today! Bear had him on his board and then obviously superdog picks and regular picks. This happened way soooooner than I would've hoped.

Coach on The Huddle picked Tech to win, but he mentioned if Liberty wins two ACC games, then we should be in the conference . I hope we win this game just to see how he'll respond when Liberty play NC State later Lord willing.

Liberty came ready to play; sitting in the stands and our fans energy is electric with the few that’s allowed on both sides. Opening drive tech looked shocked that we hit them in their chin and drove down the field for an opening score. I have a feeling this will go down to the wire. Let’s go flames!
