He didn't look like he was in pain but brace did not look promising.
Left elbow makes it interesting.
Waiting for updates.

I hope we sit him next week. We can beat UNA without him. No use rushing him.

Let him sit the next 2 weeks. ULM getting killed again.

yeah, there is no need to play him. I hope it isn't too serious but this is the risk you take as a scrambling QB.

Malik needs to start sliding instead of taking chances some time. I understand he can extend plays going on and run, but he's trying to do extra versus 2+ guys like he did to get that injury. I hope it is minor and that they rest him for next game(maybe ULM also).

Pretty sure Hugh said in post game that Frith is hurt again as well. May be tough sledding without him and Yarbrough on the outside.

Hopefully, nothing more than a separated shoulder.

Frith appeared to be a hamstring on the sideline I believe it was on the long Willis scramble after the missed throw to Douglas that would have been a TD.
Malik, i dont know it certainly didn't look good to me. If Ferguson is the QB i have to think we look more like last year's offense but i don't know that we have the WR's to make it work. Noah and CJ seem to stay banged up and Lofton had another costly drop. Seems like Stubbs, Shaa & Douglas are the only reliable guys right now and they are best in the slot though Shaa has gotten moved around.

The fact they haven’t said anything yet leads me to believe it’s more serious. I figured we would get an update 20 mins after the game or something.

By: Jon Manson
On Monday, Liberty head coach Hugh Freeze provided an update on Willis’ status saying he will be day to day this week.

Well I am really glad to hear that it seems to be nothing serious. No rush to play him this week with UNA. Regardless, I'm glad he is not out for longer, which I know many of us were thinking when we saw him in the sling.

Maybe I'm selfish, but for him - I would like to see him play and build his stats up. The bigger they grow - the more attention he gets and we get. National stats don't wesight missed games...

You are, and so is he if MW feels the same. Team doesn’t need you for UNA. Team > Self. Team needs you to heal.
From one former Coach’s perspective, I believe there is Karma with these things. Put him out that for stats, he’ll get hurt again and worse. Lose-Lose. No need.

Why dive UNA coaches nearly an antire week to gameplan for one specific style of QB when you can force them to scheme for both Willis & Ferguson. I suspect that he will dress as an insurance policy. But it would be nice to see what this senor QB from Maine has to offer.

That’s the reason for “day to day”. Mind games. 100%

Never let opponent know who QB is, until the first offensive play.

From one former Coach’s perspective, I believe there is Providence with these things. Put him out that for stats, he’ll get hurt again and worse. Lose-Lose. No need.

I agree the stats would be nice, but with his style of play it is critical to have someone available with quality gametime reps should they be needed down the road. I also think it would be good to use both backups in next game to see who is more effective. FIU was likely a bit surprised with their 3rd string backup.

I think Willis will probably play some just for continuity's sake. But I suspect Ferg will get the bulk of the snaps. I'd love to see JB get some reps too.
