As I stated in another thread, we don't tackle much during fall camp, so this might be rough to watch the team play against (WKU). I hope we will not look like Navy against BYU.

I just don't think our offense is ready for this type of defensive challenge, especially with our losses from last year and breaking in a new quarterback.

2 sacks. Their QB is elusive.

Given our injuries, how bad tackling has been for teams in their first game, a first game QB, and so many new pieces, I think WKU covers.

LU 17-16 ( WKU kicks a field goal to make it 16-10 with under 5 to play and Shedro takes the kickoff to the house and we force a turnover right before they get to range.
1 sack ( 2 more very close because QB just makes it to LOC on keepers but they don’t rule a sack ). Fan boy - now for the Adult In me betting the under. ( and staying away from anything else ).

I want to pick LU

Hilltoppers are game prepared. This alone can hurt us especially the defensive aspect on both sides. Offensively this would be easier for us to overcome.
I am not sold on our secondary. I know linebacker is our concern but wee lost some playing time experience in our system there.
QB wise as for mobility we are on. passing is an unknown.
I seriously think we are fairly strong at receiver and tight ends.
Our Lines on both sides will work. How quickly will they jell? I was impressed with how the coaches on both sides improved performance so I think in a perfect world we can win this is all goes right. but, we have not played yet. Experience of force and pain goes a long way.
Kicking? No spring practice to watch these guys warm up. Based on last year I am not confident.
Special teams our guys cover well. Our returns we have a shot.
Most would call a win by Liberty an upset but I think our coaching and team mindset will be ready for game 1.
