With his ideology, the only choice for LU was the Mid-Atlantic conference, but that would mean we'll benefit even more. We can't have that happen, so kick them out even though they're financially well off to survive!

It's completely idealogical. He acknowledged that Liberty has the financial resources and good momentum. And then you look at some of his other choices.

He has Troy relegated as well. They beat LSU, and are not an easy out for anyone.

I usually watch people predictions about the upcoming seasons. So far I hear folks saying that we're a pretty good team.

They may not even be the worst ones. It's a joke of a list, and he's also smoking crack if he thinks the conferences are going to share the money like that, and give "lesser" programs a shot at rising to their level. The power five conferences won't allow it.

I think he's very wrong as far as how Liberty's football and basketball is regarded compared to others. Hugh Freeze made them very competitive offensively in his first season, and Liberty is known to have good resources for facilities, expansion, etc.

The only thing holding them back would be prejudice (religious, political, philosophical). That is an unspoken and unsaid behind the scenes reason, but it has nothing to do with sports.

Pat Forde is a sports writer with nothing else to write about, so he comes up with this. Nobody who matters is paying attention.

How are people taking something like this so seriously?

B. There has been a long time without any live sports. What do you expect?

By Forde's rationale of demoting Troy because of their lack of an overall competitive program, we should've made his cut. We're competitive or even pretty good in almost all of our sports, but especially in the big ones. Oh well, at least it's something to talk about.

Overall we are better than most Sunbelt and Conference USA schools. And even some P5 schools.
