R-Fr Jason Stricker, a member of last year's recruiting class who did not play at all this year, is currently the only PK on the roster. He had several other offers out of HS, but is pretty much an unknown quantity right now.

Since it is really a necessity to have some sort of backup anyway, I fully expect Freeze to look for a walk-on kicker to compete for the job in Spring practice.

This is fantastic. He and Stricker can compete for the job in Spring practice, which is something we all know HF loves. Hopefully both do well and we end up with a solid kicker and a backup.

In his year at Penn State, Barbir was a "kickoff specialist", so apparently he has a strong leg. If Stricker can demonstrate he is reliable on short/medium FGs and PATs, it could be a situation where duties are split, with Barbir handling kickoffs and long FGs. If my calculations are correct, unless he can get a waiver for a 6th year, he only has 1 year of eligibility left.

Probably. Even though Barbir has actually been a student at Liberty for 2 years already and transferred with no intention of playing football.
