This is a must win for the perception of our program......and it is not a gimme. We are playing a Big 10 conference team (should be Big 3?), with 100% FBS recruits (they may not be 4 and 5 star, but they are legit FBS).
Rutgers is a bad team.....if we lose to them, everyone will view our program negatively. We have a nice record due to an easy schedule (which we should have at this point.....great job Ian!), but a loss next week would shoot down any progress we made this year....Rutgers is bad.
We would not deserve a bowl, with a loss to Rutgers.....I’m just sayin.

If defense gets back on track we should win

It is a must win to become bowl eligible, because we have zero chance to win against UVA, BYU, we are just not there yet. We have to win against Rutgers and NMS. As someone already said, defense is the key. I was very disappointed in the sloppy tackling yesterday, looked like we regressed in that area over the bye week.

We can beat UVA. The boo hoos will be so obsessed with hoping to beat VT, they will be looking ahead.

For those of you that dont get the big ten network, those games are cast through the fox sports app as well. Not sure if you have to have a cable package with the btn to get it or not.

Yes I did. That is another one we will have to win. We need to make sure we don't lost to those teams that have horrible records. That will not look good for us, even if we become bowl eligible.

I checked my DishNetwork package, and I get the Big10 Network on channel 410.

I know this seems cliche but the only game that matters is this game against Rutgers. I know they aren't very good but they are still a Big 10 team and will be a good test for our team.

If our defense doesn't show up again then it'll be a frustrating afternoon.

I penciled this in as a loss before the season started. I feel a bit better about it now but still would be mildly surprised if we won.

We can lose every game on our schedule if both sides of the ball don’t play well. But we should beat Rutgers by 17 or more. There will be 8500 in the stands maybe less. We will be highly motivated and will come out swinging. I am more worried about UMass and NMSU simply that we can take them for granted easily and not come to play.

For those interested in a road trip, Goole Maps says that it's only a 6 hour and 14 minute drive. I sure wish LU would do a tour bus trip there like they used to do for the Stony Brook games!

I have BTN but not BTN plus on Spectrum. Games on plus. Loaded the BTN plus app. Found the game but it said blackout in the 336 area. I see where you can subscribe for a month for $15, but it warns that B10 football games are not included?

On Verizon FIOS the Big Ten “Overflow” channel is 330, which is non-HD. Ordinarily a dealbreaker for me  , but I need to tape the beginning due to a 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. conflict.

Might look into the Fox Sports app.

Is this the first time we have been the favorite against a P5 opponent ?

It has to be. Only time it may have been in the single digits is against Wake.

Freeze broke it down perfectly depth wise. However the lack of qb play and no stable coaching is whats been killing them. However, nobody likes to lose and they will try their best against us because it feels like a game they should win.

We have got to pressure the QB better than we did vs Maine.

Even NMSU had a moRe active message board than Rutgers - fans don’t even care to bash LU politics - just silence. I liked seeing BUckshot having plays that got the ball out of his hands much quicker in the Maine game - will be crucial for all of our remaining P5 games - was the difference in Syracuse game. I am so juiced for this game - can’t wait.
