Our road to a bowl could be somewhat hindered by some of those stupid bowl tie ins. i.e. 7th place ACC team vs 7th place team from some other conference, as an example. Some of the tie ins are almost comical. Bowls should be allowed to select who they want.

The more I think about the Birmingham Bowl, the more I like it. It's decent driving distance. Alabama is the best football state in America. It would be great for LU to expand our footprint and marketing efforts in the state. It could aid in recruiting in next 2 or 3 years.
Alabama has good tourist attractions. Alabama sports hall of fame. The University of Alabama Hall of Fame is about an hour from Birmingham.

I'm really excited about this possibility! I'll be in the country (Bloomington IN) for the holidays, at my sister's. Her and her husband are both Liberty grads, and my brother from Boston, who attended LU for a year, will also be there. None of them follow Liberty's teams closely, so I'm not sure who I could talk into going along (probably just my brother). 7 hour drive. I would most likely go to Huntsville and spend the night on the 1st, and then drive the last hour and a half on game day morning. Hotel rooms in Birmingham for those dates start at over $300, but are available in Huntsville for $44 and up.
