Only thing new to me was 2B .... "Falwell Jr.’s goal was to have a $1-billion endowment, but he says it has already hit $2 billion."

I thought it was 1.4B.

That number I believe was from 2017; I may be incorrect on that though.

That number has been flying up and down lately.

I wonder what Centra would cost. $2.2B? Lower?

What is the benefit of Liberty immediately being a "research university"?

Liberty would be in the right direction to apply to be a member of the AAU club. LU's already in the Carnegie Classifications of institutions of higher learning. If we invest a abundant amount into research and academia, the school can reach the level as an R1. Right now, Liberty is a D/PU, which the lowest level for doctoral universities(Last I check). Becoming an R1/R2 can help us academically, financially and even athletically( higher tier conferences(P5's). Not sure if LU is considering going that route, but it is good idea with what they have in assets right now. Just a thought:

We would be among these universities as a top American university:

edit: Looking more into this subject, those schools who are members of the AAU have put in around half a billion dollars in research alone. That would take a long time for Liberty to do so;hopefully I will be wrong.
