How fast will Freeze have this team playing?

Anybody see comments from Freeze about how fast he intends to play, or if he'd welcome a shootout vs Babers/Syracuse? Our team last year was obviously very fast (11th fastest in the country, snapping it every 20 secs), but Freeze has actually had faster teams in the past while at Ole Miss. In 2016, Ole Miss snapped it 18.34 secs between plays, which was 7th fastest that year. And he's been sub-20 secs another year. Anyway, just curious if he'll be able to take the tempo to that level in the first year, if this offense is going to air it out and play wide open, or what the general plan is. Thanks!

He certainly likes a fast tempo it'll be interesting to see how different the offense will look.

Also, welcome to the board, happy to have ya!

Welcome to the board.

I think the tempo may feel faster but the averages might say different. I think we will routinely snap before the defense is set, but also delay the count to get free yards.

The hurry up-slow down tempo Gill employed against Baylor was brilliant. Unfortunately, that seemed like the only game he employed that strategy. I wouldn't mind a return to that tempo like 20something described.

I’m no football coach. Don’t claim to be super knowledge about the x’s and o’s at all. However, it always seemed like the huge games that Gill won (especially Baylor) included a perfect gameplan on offense and then just completely ditched it against lesser teams. And we very much underperformed.

I doubt if anyone will know our pace, until after kickoff. I don't think Coach will tell the nation what tempo we will utilize.
Never give information to opponent's scouting report. Let'em guess.

An uptempo team can only really sustain that pace for as long as the defense can keep up.
If we are snapping every 20 seconds and putting together a lot of quick scoring drives, our defense is going to need to be able to get off the field at a pretty steady clip. While I predicted that the teams would combine for 91 points, I don't think we are quite in a position to have an Arena Football type game with the Orange. If we can score at a solid pace and make some stops, I think we will be able to hang with them.
