Absolutely unbelievable that the season starts at the end of THIS month. I love this feature by the way.

Feels bad for Tillmon, dropped from 7 to mid 20s. I agree with it but still a drastic change in expectations. Hopefully he is one that benefits the most from a new defensive coaching staff.

He is one of those kids that I want to see do well this year but he is FCS talent at best. Last year against FBS teams he like Juwan Wells looked a step slower.

I wonder if any of our freshman will make this list of 30 players in 30 days.

This is the best way for me to learn the team and our players, thanks for the article. Feels odd seeing so many defensive players in the top 20, bc of their performance last year.

I did like Lemonier's quote in the paper about " last year everyone wasnt on the same page, and everything was out of order".

Hopefully that means they got those problems fixed and we will see better results.

I always felt like we had the talent defensively to be average at least. I am convinced that the issues were from coaching and not personnel.

Totally agree. Tillman and Rion Davis have sort of fallen short of expectations, along with a few others, but the coaching staff should have done more with what they had last season.

R i, this I 100% agree with. I remember Tillmon and Davis coming with big hype as Tillmon was a 2 star kid and Davis a 3 star. Therefore, I expected both of them to be super stars on our team by atleast their junior year. Though Tillmon has had a better career than Davis I am proud both of them didn't jet when Gill resigned or after spring ball when it looked as if their playing time would decrease.

I am really excited to see the growth of the defense this year. Guys like Treshaun Clark, Elijah James, Devonte Lloyd, Kei-trel Clark, Tank Land and others.

Something that is evident is the muscle mass added to Jessie Lemonie and Austin Lewis. Coach Dom has been just what the doctor ordered!

It was an unpopular decision to let Bill go, but Dom has really proven his worth so far.

I agree with where you have Austin Lewis preseason, I think he could end up being #1 overall at the end of the season.

Glad Buckshot wasn't made #1 just because he is our QB1.

We don't even know that he is QB 1

20Something does raise a fair point. While nothing has been said about how the QBs are doing, it wouldn't be fair to simply assume SBC is our starter. As the incumbent, I'm sure that puts less burden on him, but he isn't just going to be the starter/QB1 because he is a senior. It wouldn't surprise me if he does end up being the one to take the first snap against Syracuse in a couple of weeks, but there's still time for JB or even Malik (who we have no update on his transfer waiver) to end up getting that honor

It’s not an assumption. The coaches have said he’s the starter. Until we see otherwise, that’s what we’re operating under.

That's fair. With current knowledge he is obviously the starter. But if, that's a mighty big if, Willis is granted eligibility, then we know nothing.

Thanks for that Jon. I haven't been able to read much outside of the 757 because I have been getting acclimated to the new job.
