Yep, it's us.

The Black Bears were an FCS playoff semifinalist last season while the Flames posted a 6-6 record in their second season of FBS football. Maine had the best rushing defense in all of FCS last year, allowing just 79.2 yards per-game on the ground. On offense, the Black Bears return their starting quarterback, four offensive lineman and gain a solid running back in Buffalo transfer Emmanuel Reed. Liberty will be adjusting to new schemes from first-year head coach Hugh Freeze.

By October 19, LU will be finished adjusting to new schemes. I predict we will be finished adjusting to new schemes by the Syracuse game. Coach Freeze will have them ready to play opening day.

Whoever wrote that article apparently was bored with nothing else to do. Maine may be a good FCS team, but they don't have Crimson Tide on their helmets.

The Maine game actually makes me a bit nervous. Liberty, historically, has played down to their opponents. I hope HF brings a new culture but I'll play the wait and see game on this.

I'm just looking for how we look against Syracuse. If we play P5s like the first half of the Virginia game, we'll be fine. If we play like the Auburn game, I don't have confidence for the P5 portion of our schedule.

I think we handle our business with the change of pace in practice and conditioning.

I hope you guys are right. If the past 16 years of following/supporting LU football has taught me anything , it is to not take anything for granted.
