Any reason West Virginia hasn’t been one of the teams we have scheduled first 5 years? Seems like a natural 2 for 1 or at least a 1 off.

:rofl NO, please, no. We've already got Marshall on our schedule.

I could foresee WVU as a fair addition starting in 2023. I don't have insider insight like Manson and the boys at ASOR or our resident beat writer Damien, but my thought is with so much being put about re: the playoff and the importance of SOS, if you have any machinations on being in the top 4 or 8 teams that are selected, they aren't going to "load up on cupcakes" in their schedule, especially with the limited number of non-conference slots that they have year to year

Trust me...you do not want to see Liberty play at WVU. The worst fans.

Very true, but we played there several years ago, and I believe lost by 2 TDs.

They seem to really enjoy tailgating. Must be the "shine". But the worst fans are at ODU.

Any issues?

Heard too many stories from fellow fans of idiotic fans in Morgantown.

I was at both games, and my cousin was actually working the concessions stand for her Methodist church. I was surprised that the WVU fans weren't obnoxious, but both games were afternoon games, so most WVU fans were still sober.

We are the BEST fans! Now Texas fans......horns down baby. Horns down
And just because they are afternoon games doesn’t mean the fans are sober. Just means they started early or didn’t stop from the night before!!!

Jerry Jr came over to the tailgate I was at with a bunch of WVU folks and everyone was kind and gracious. The only idiot fans I saw were a couple of lu fans who kept trying to tell the people in front of them to sit down.

For clarity even though its obvious...we were an fcs team then both times and wvu had little reason to think wed challenge them though we did the first time especially. The Wvu issues more than with pitt vt etc and teams like that. Now if we would have beaten them then it could be ugly. They have def earned the reputation but its not like that all the time and against every team.

The student section doesn’t have a chain fence barricade anymore. We’ve improved a great deal

I recall when Miami played at WV, fans were throwing trash cans at Miami players.

They weren't throwing at them-just returning them!

This is a perfect opportunity for you to try that new copy and paste skill you learned and back up your claim of WV fans throwing trash cans at Miami players

You mean like this?
In 1996, after Miami won on a last-second blocked punt returned for a touchdown, a trash can thrown from the stands hit a Hurricane assistant coach in the head. The coach settled a lawsuit against the university and the Big East for $50,000.

Is your name ballcoach? Would you let a student do another students homework? Ha. At some point he’s got to learn the material himself
And we always threw stuff at Pitt and VT fans. Just returning the favor

Threw whole oranges at Syracuse....

Rocked an ambulance carrying a Miami athlete...

To the original question, WVU’s schedule was done way out when LU was looking. And they’re less willing than other to do the 2-1 deals. They only go on road for P5’s, and they only get 3 non-con’s per year.

Thanks Cider for coaching PH on trash cans. I wonder do we need to coach him up on "burning couches" ?

No, all WVU students know how to burn couches. I think it's a graduation requirement to be an 'Eer alum. :flamethrower

I knew the answer. I wanted to see if you were capable of doing any factual research. Alas you are not and had to have Cider do your work
