I go to football games to watch football, not dog and pony shows.
I thought you worked as an usher? Ushers should focus on their jobs not the game

I have never worked a ball game as an usher.

I was an usher in my church years ago.

Well you get in to games for free and check tickets by Gates. Is the proper job title now Seat Attendant?

We are attempting to attract all levels. Listen to a home broadcast of Astros baseball on Sirius (radio). You have to follow the en tire game! They mix everything well from the 50"s to now. It works, from an old guy. This may be a template we can use.

Drones - great idea - not sure it would look very good in daylight and I doubt we ever kickoff after sun is all the way down - might be cool half time show coordinated with band.

I'm not talking about doing it full scale. We have a drone program and we have engineering majors. I'm sure we could come up with something reasonable. Even if they just made a football and the LU logo with 75 drones...it would be cool! :)

P.S. I think Thomas Road was one of the first churches to use midi controllers to control the light banks on the Living Christmas tree. :)

I know the Score has been used in football social media posts as recently as spring ball.

I think the pop (read Taylor Swift and contemporaries) doesn't help build the atmosphere. I could make an example playlist on Spotify if it would help. I want music that makes me want to run through a wall, not change the station from K92.
But it’s not about what 30-something and older guys want. Our atmosphere is totally centered around what the students want. They don’t want a rock show. They want a party.
Man I love the way you think. I was thinking the same thing. It's about what the players need to get them motivated. If I had my say, I would choose an old Beastie Boys song. "You gotta fight...for your right...to paarrrty!" LOL

In other words all the programming and running of the drones could be done with engineering and flight students as projects. LU's only cost would be the drones. That would be big upfront, but you can reuse them each year. I wonder what the Living Christmas Tree originally cost?

You'd also have to buy equipment to act as controllers for the drones, too. That's gotta cost some $. But I will stop derailing this conversation now. I just think we have the people in right places with the right majors that could possibly make a drone show happen with a reasonable investment.

I did not read this thread, but I will say it is extremely too loud.

If we the fans can make more noise this year, hopefully those that make the decision to turn up the music and leon screaming third down, will change their minds.

I bring headphones for my two small kids, and ear plugs for myself. Its miserably loud. Im a millennial by age for reference.

Since Purple has turned over a new leaf and posting quality predictions, I have worked it out with Ian that every pregame - 3 hours before kickoff - he hands a playlist for all pregame and in game music to Ballcoach who will ( along with a security escort ) walk THE LIST up to sound booth. It is without reservation that I predict mallcoach would not approve of a single one of my songs. Ha

Good point - letting Ian know that the seal of the Scarlet Pimpernel must be intact and unbroken at delivery and Ballcoach must report back to his Usher sentry point prior to sound booth unsealing THE LIST. Problem solved.

Considering last time I may or may not have been in charge of the play lost someone tried to physically break down the door to the press booth because they were playing Motown.....

Why not cut out the middle man (Purple) and have Ballcoach create and deliver the Play List? After all, Ballcoach has been a member of the TRBC choir longer than most of you have been alive.

ballcoach is on record saying there should only be a PA speaker and the game. That’s it. No music. No hype. Just a passionless reading of down and distance

Post Malone, Lil Nas X and Drake. Maybe some house like Avicii
Ladies will be down with that which makes it more enjoyable for everyone trust me

I’d be down with anything as long as it’s a party

Actually, they'd have to license the technology and it's not cheap. Currently the types of arial drone shows you've seen at large events or in places such as Disney Springs over the holidays are the result of patented technology. Our engineering team or drone program wouldn't be of any use for something like that. $$$ is the only real thing that would help. Oh, and a safe place for the drones to fall in case of failure.

I have another idea. Before the Carolina Hurricanes ice hockey games they always have someone crank up this weather siren. For us as Liberty, could we have someone ceremonially ring the replica of the Liberty Bell before each game starts to pump up the crowd? Maybe move the replica bell to inside the concourse of the stadium?
