Wasn't Coach Freeze going to be on a radio show Friday night? If so, is there a link to it streamed & archived somewhere?

Check out this article 30 years ago on Doc's vision for LU football. Vision becoming a reality.
"We have lofty goals," Falwell says in his familiar cable-television voice. "I said when we started football here that I wanted to play Notre Dame. My athletic director soon told me I spoke too strongly, but I can dream. I may be on crutches, they may have to wheel me out on a stretcher by the time it happens, but that is a goal.

Not surprised. I know how coaches with back problems act. :D

Interesting choice to use a photo with Freeze in hospital scrubs.
I like the new blue shirts/jackets/whatever. They mix well with jeans, khaki & navy pants.

This is great news! I had heard a rumor 10 mins before you posted this he had been operated on again. The source is only about 50-50 on his stuff though. :D
There has not been an additional surgery as of now.

Great write up. I am so pumped up. I loved this quote.
“It will be about these kids, really,” Freeze said about Saturday night. “It’s not about our coaches anymore. We’ve prepared them and now it’s time for them to go and play. No question it will be emotional for me and my family and we’re thrilled about it. We can’t wait to enjoy this journey.”

I hope not. I love the guy and totally onboard with what he is doing with the program; however I wish he would step aside on gameday until he is ready physically.
Who determines what is "ready"? As far as I know, his prognosis for recovery is still good, but what if he never regains full mobility? Should a 49 year old man at the peak of his powers give up his profession because he has a physical incapacity which requires an accomodation? Not in my book.

I should have been more specific. I was speaking more toward where he is in the recovery process and whether his continuing to coach is slowing down that process.

As great of an on-field coach and play caller as he is, at this stage in the program, I just think recruiting is most crucial and want him to be at his best come November and December.

Clearly, I do not think it is unreasonable for LU to make whatever accommodation they deem appropriate. Again, I just do not want him to prolong his recovery by trying to do too much, too soon.
