I hope not. I love the guy and totally onboard with what he is doing with the program; however I wish he would step aside on gameday until he is ready physically.
Who determines what is "ready"? As far as I know, his prognosis for recovery is still good, but what if he never regains full mobility? Should a 49 year old man at the peak of his powers give up his profession because he has a physical incapacity which requires an accomodation? Not in my book.
I should have been more specific. I was speaking more toward where he is in the recovery process and whether his continuing to coach is slowing down that process.
As great of an on-field coach and play caller as he is, at this stage in the program, I just think recruiting is most crucial and want him to be at his best come November and December.
Clearly, I do not think it is unreasonable for LU to make whatever accommodation they deem appropriate. Again, I just do not want him to prolong his recovery by trying to do too much, too soon.
