The Big South Hates Us

We won and only got one of the four awards this week. It's such a bias against us.
Liberty University defensive back Tim Torrence has been named this week’s Big South Freshman of the Week, honoring the rookie’s efforts against Western Carolina this past weekend.

Torrence (Fr., DB, Miramar, Fla.) posted his second-high career tackle total as the defensive back finished the game with four tackles. For the third time this season, the freshman finished a game with three solo tackles, including the first tackle for a loss in his collegiate career (1 yard). Torrence also added his third pass break up of the year.

Torrence was one of four players honored by the Big South Conference as Charleston Southern’s Collin Drafts was named Offensive Player of the Week, the Buccaneers’ Jon Carmon was named Defensive Player of the Week and Coastal Carolina kicker Josh Hoke was named Special Team Player of the Week.

Torrence and the Flames return to Big South Conference action on Saturday when they host Charleston Southern at Williams Stadium in the last home contest of the season. The Buccaneers come to Lynchburg riding the second-longest active winning streak in I-AA football as Charleston Southern picked up its 14th-straight victory with a 28-14 win over Gardner-Webb last weekend. Kickoff for the contest is set for 1 p.m.

Who do you think should have gotten player of the week over a guy who had a 75% completion percentage for 406 yards and 4 tds and 0 ints. with a Big South record for completions in a game and a Big South record 452 yards total offence. All in a critical conference match.

And a guy with two interceptions to end G-Webb’s final two drives to preserve the win in a critical conference match.

Who’s more deserving? Honestly, I fail to see the bias. Who SJ?

You're new, so I'll explain this to you and not make fun of you for it.

People on this board (not myself, but a lot of others) think the Big South is biased against Liberty. I like to make fun of people who think that anytime I possibly can and this was one of the times.

Basically, you're not allowed to post any kind of Big South player or team awards on this board without prefacing it the way SJ did. Otherwise, you get your membership revoked and you're forced to post on the Radford board until Sly deems you worthy to return.

Some on this board that have posted big south bias stories have legit concerns. The Track win being revoked, LB not getting MOP in the tournament, KK missing meetings when people have traveled hundreds of miles, and many more "real" stories but now it has become a battle cry and really gone too far as SJ said.
