I know a lot of y'all want Gill gone and I respect your thoughts. I see the average seasons we have had in a row since the playoffs back in 2014. But play this out with me.

What if, Gill in 2018 goes 6-6 and then in 2019 goes 7-5 with a bowl bid. His record for those two years would be 13-11. His record in 2016 and 2017 was only 12-10. From a record standpoint it would be the same, two games over .500. Now, I KNOW the outcome of each season from a fan's view would be WAY different. "We went 6-6 our first season in FBS, wow! Then in 2019, WHAT WE WENT 7-5 AND THEN WENT TO A BOWL!!!!"

So, IF this scenario played itself out. The question I have is. . . "Would you still want Gill gone?"

If we get the right guy in there, he could make a significant difference. However, I am pretty much in agreement with your thoughts/projections. It is going to take a major motivator and excellent coach to turn this thing around.
