This summer, Ben Maffe made a rash decision. After one visit to Marshall while the majority of the student body was on spring break, the Briar Woods senior committed to play for the Thundering Herd.

Last month, Maffe decommitted in order to think things out.

“I talked to my coaches and my parents and a bunch of people who have gone through college football,” Maffe said. “It was clear — I needed to take my time. I think I rushed my decision.”
