CSU is clearly a team we need to respect, but looking at their current resume, we should be confident They are 5-3, with their only real quality win being the 59-58 2OT squeaker over Coastal, and they now have what still must be considered a bad loss to G-W I would say their chances of an at large at this point are no better than ours Their BSC wins against Monmouth and Presby were somewhat more dominant than ours, but I don't see that as meaning much at this point

Yes, it's possible we could lose to CSU and still get a bid, but our destiny is in our own hands Lose to Chucky South and we could find ourselves echoing the words of Cassius from Julius Ceasar "The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves that we are underlings"

This is a very winnable game for us. CSU is very much built on their running game and they have three very good backs much like we do. We are going to have to really clog up the middle, but in doing that, we have to be firm in our tackling, something we have struggled with all year. Holloway is the kind of back that if you don't get him down at first contact, and he can bounce it out and get in space...he could break off a lot of big runs. Hammond is a good complement to Holloway and add to that a very good dual threat in Robert Mitchell who is their backup and probably will have a package of plays this week. If you remember, we had issues early with Kenji Bahar for Monmouth so I would believe they will want to look at that film to prepare for Mitchell.

No doubt the trophy will be in the house on Saturday but we cannot...CANNOT put so much of our focus on the trophy that we come out flat or tight.

Using the old saying: on paper we should beat them fairly easy by a wide margin. But games are Not played on paper as the past 2 games have proven.

If we get our offense clicking on all cylinders, I see a LU win.

This is my concern with a true freshman QB. I am not saying he can't or won't get it done, but this is a game that youth can lose. Calvert has been fantastic for us this year, my hope is he is able to have a 250+ 3TD kind of day after struggling the last 2 weeks.

I have to think their game vs GWU was a WTF game. They were overlooking that game because of this game. CSU has had some very important injuries which has stalled their season from what it could've been. This game is more winnable than I thought earlier this year for that very reason.

My fear for this game is that we are going to ride the emotion of being at home to and early 10-14 point lead and then we'll slink back into our uber conservative play calling in order to protect the lead. That'll stall us out and CSU will be able to come back and win in the 4th.

CSU has a Freshman QB as well, although he has a redshirt year under his belt I'm worried about our OL having 5 healthy bodies to start the game, let alone play 4 quarters Hopefully Campbell will be back and\or Isaacson was just nicked up at the end of the Presby game It would be nice to get Hartman back as well, although with all the time he has missed I'm afraid playing him too much could mess with the chemistry

Our running game will be the most critical factor in whether we win or lose. GW ran for over 225 yards and got the W, NDSU ran for 230+ and both of those games ended up being losses. Coastal ran for over 200 as well and lost by 1 in OT. Feed the three headed monster of Moseley, Macon and Hickson and we win.

I know CSU is a good offensive team, but their strength of running the ball plays into our strength of a defense! We have proved ourselves against the Run week in and week out. I am excited to bring the Big South Title back to where it belongs and give Turner Gill his second trip as a coach to the playoffs!

Our running backs had 49 carries for us last week for 255 yards.we need all three of them to tote this week...a LOT. Balance that with an improvement in the passing game and (to borrow a phrase) I believe that we will win and we will be hoisting that Big South trophy on Saturday night

Tanner's head coach knows more than a little bit about what he has been going through TG had to give up a promising career in the CFL at age 23 and switch to baseball due to concussions

I had an concussion in December last year, and I can only imagine how I would feel having multiple ones. I didn't feel like myself for months. It took me a month to even return to work.

Just some food for thought:

In our 6 wins this year we have averaged 232 yards rushing

In our 3 losses this year we have averaged a whopping 77 yards rushing.

Common denominator is: 2 FBS schools and JSU(who should be an FBS school). Not to mention we had a different starting o-line for each game.
