I'm watching the conf games, and watching us hang with everyone, and the question comes to mind: is it possible to have a 4 way tie at the end of the season? then what?

here's the logic (theory ) :

GW beats Liberty
Coastal beats Liberty

GW beats Coastal
Chuck South beats Coastal

Liberty beats Chuck South
Liberty beats VMI

Chuck South beats VMI
Coastal beats VMI

no, now that I think about it- I think VMI dropping 3 so far screws it all up. According to my calculations, G-W can win the conf outright if everyone else splits the conf matches.

You didn't include the GW/CSU game in your scenario.

It's impossible to have a 4-way tie in a 5-team league. You can have a 5-way tie @ 2-2 (though that isn't possible this year since VMI will definitely finish under .500 and either GWU or CCU will definitely finish over .500) and you can have a three-way tie for first @ 3-1 (or a three-way tie for last @ 1-3), but there is no way to have a 4-way tie.

And there is still a chance for that 3-way tie for first. If CSU beats LU and CCU, CSU, and GWU all go 1-1 against each other, then they will all be 3-1 and we'll have tri-champs in the Big South.

WEF, I love you. I realized VMI was the flaw in my theory, and I was trying to work that out- but my head started to hurt.
