Flames get the win as expected 41-7. Bring your thoughts here as we head into the bye week and the halfway pole on the season

The speed of Shells and the arm strength of Calvert may end up being an unstoppable force throughout the rest of the season.

I can't remember a season where we had two by weeks back to back and I can't think of a season where we needed the bye week more than this one for numerous reasons.

How do we get away with blaring sound on the loud speakers on 3rd downs when RMU had the ball? We did this against JSU last week and I thought that was not allowed but the refs didn't seem to care or warn the sound people.

Duke is right. We are allowed to do the third down music in non conference games but league games have to stop when the team comes to the line.

We may have worst ground game in all of NCAA. It appears our running plays are designed to get no more than 3 yards.

I'd take 3 yds a carry if I were a coach. I'd score every possession.

Let's not forget the "cloud of dust"

And if you don't get it you can always slug the opponents linebacker 8)

The ground game obviously needs to improve, but before we are too harsh on the decimated OL, let's also give them at least a small part of the credit for zero sacks and very few hurries

Robbie Mo was focusing on occupying our OL with their 3 down linemen, allowing the LBs a clear path to the runner, and it worked We need to do a better job of getting an OL or 2 into the second level to block a LB against that type of defense The other result however, was that Buckshot had time to pick them apart for 340 yards and 4 TDs with no INT

I'm sure Daley has his reasons for thinking we are better off running inside, but we really do need to mix it up at least a little to keep them honest

Another small gripe Have we run anything RESEMBLING a trick play or even misdirection all year :dontgetit

I guarantee they're holding any trick play or complex play until conference season. This year has been solely about the conference schedule.

With artificial turf would that be artificial dust?

Ballcoach, have you checked the stats on Robert Morris's ground game? :fineprint

In all fairness, RMU is decimated with injuries on the offensive end; that's why they start as frosh QB and 3 frosh OL and a soph at RB

What does that mean, anyway?

Basically the expectation was that we would mow down RMU (which we did after a slow start) so it was like a bit of a bye week of sorts

BJ, that's actually pretty insulting to say about a much needed victory.

I agree it was much needed Cider. Thing is, I was explaining what people were saying when they said we essentially had back to back bye weeks

Yes - it is insulting - we have 6 bye weeks until we play CSU on November 12th... Just hope we aren't too rusty when we finally play a real game...

This just in Buckshot Calvert did NOT win BSC FOW award It went to CSU's FR QB Shane Bucenell, who was 9-15 for 149 yards and 4 TDs in a 2-OT win over Coastal

Those are pretty good numbers and they did beat a FBS school. Buckshot will have many opportunities of the next 5 weeks to put up huge numbers. My prediction is he hits 500 yards in one of those weeks.
