I was creating the poll as you posted. Don't forget to go back and vote in it when you can.

Depending on the weather, 12.5k is about the baseline. I am guessing betwene 14-15k.

12500. I'm not going and neither is my whole group. The game just doesn't mean anything.

After JSU game, I am afraid to guess attendance anymore. Someone, somewhere needs to light some "flames" under students, fans and people in 50 miles radius of Lynchburg, and get them into stadium. To the best of my knowledge, there is nothing else going on in the area Saturday. (other than LU-UVA baseball game at 12:00). Actually the baseball game should help football attendance. fans can come to baseball game, then go eat, then come to football game.

Our students generally make up between 30-40% of the attendance at a game, so let's say 35% of total attendance on average. The student attendance dropped 26% from Jacksonville to Jacksonville State. If it drops even half of that (13%) this game, we're looking at 13271 this weekend. If it drops by the same amount as it did between the first two games, we're looking at 11,290 for this game.
I think we'll be over 12,500 but not by too much.

I'm officially coming to homecoming and I haven't been to a game in years. So what does that say?
And yes, I just pulled a BJ and made this thread all about me.

Winning will be the "flames" you refer to in your post. Until that happens, expect people to find something else to do on Saturday.

Winning does cure attendance problems. (lot of fair weather and bandwagon fans).
I have only missed one home game since 2006 and that was because they changed the date of last year's Coastal game from Saturday to Thursday and I was out of town at a conference and could not get back.

The whole board is about you!
It will be well over. Athletics will never let attendance fall under 14,211

Maybe all those who skipped JSU game will "feel guilty" and all of them will show up vs. Robert Morris.

No one will feel guilty for missing a Liberty game.

That's a good point

In the past there were numbers that showed students prefer the 7pm games. Thankfully they moved homecoming up the 3:30 this year and not 7pm like it's been the past few years. I'm good with 7pm games before mid-October but once cooler weather hits we should go to 1 or 3:30 like we are this year.

The 3:30 start time is the only reason I'm making it to homecoming since I can make it a day trip without having to get a hotel.

Homecoming should always be 3:30 for that exact reason. It's the one game of the year that should accommodate to out-of-town fans and not to the students.

PErsonally if I was planning game times Id have an even split: 2 7 PM games, 2 3:30 games and 2 1 PM games.

I was on campus today, talk about the air being sucked out of the fan base. I believe attendance will be rather low. Also I'd like to note that I brought my girlfriend to her first ever liberty game this weekend. She doesn't know much about football and was really happy because the team with red helmets really good and the team in blue was awful. I then needed to fill her in that liberty was the crappy team. She stated that we didn't look like we knew what we were doing and that came from someone as objective as they come.

7 PM games are hard on out of towners.

Not if you have to drive 6 hrs and you have a kid that still plays on Friday nights. 7pm works great, 3:30 will work too. 12:30 VA Tech game was horrible.
