Bold prediction: if we win this game or the best one we go to the playoffs.

This would certainly qualify as a signature victory. And do not let the final score of the game yesterday in Waco fool you. It was close until the closing minutes. They have a bunch of quality talent as Coach Morris knows how to recruit Texas even with his time spent in Clemson with Dabo.

They are red, white and blue.... Will be difficult to tell how many fans we have there. Sly, we're counting on you to get at least 1,000 of your closest friends wearing LU on Saturday!

Even people with a great sense of humor can only take so many thread derailments before they're annoyed.

My response was actually written to be humorous, as to not pollute the beautiful thing that is football with Trump references. I recognize I have failure.

I'm okay with that one in this instance. It's been like 4-5 threads over the last week.

There is that Although I don't think we've had Trump derail many at all. But we can start!

SMU's dual threat QB missed Saturday's game against Baylor after getting injured week 1
He's currently day-to-day.

Thanks for getting us on track.
It is a Monday and I need that nudge in the right direction. Clearly, since I am on flamefans during the work day.

Both of there qb's have under a 50% completion percentage, but the biggest thing this weekend is just like week 1, stopping or limiting the production of their #1 Receiver. If Chris Turner is out this becomes a HUGE MISMATCH on any of our other db's. Cortland Sutton is 6'4 and 215 pounds but he plays like he's 230. He isn't as polished or as good all around like Isaiah Ford, but he is a good talent and definitely the second best receiver we will defend all year hands down.
I think what will tell the tale of this game is 4 things:
Can we limit big plays from Cortland.
The composure of our offensive line (aka penalties)
Masha's efficiency
Do we continue to tackle as well as we have.
Again, I don't think a victory over SMU is a long shot or even a crazy upset in my book. I truly believe we have the talent to stand toe to toe and beat them! Just like App St. and Ga St. found out.

I agree, Tide. But I will tell you that I have a ton of respect for Morris as a coach and they have quite a bit of talent on their roster. Baylor will attest to that based on all they gave them on Saturday.
One thing that is definitely in our favor is that their biggest rival is coming to town the saturday following us. It will be tough to focus on an FCS school fromt he East Coast that most of the kids have never heard of when the Toadies are just a week away.

Here are my keys:
1) We need to get to the QB. Hicks is a freshman controlling a "run and shoot" offense so that means the ball is gonna come out quick which means we need to get into the backfield even quicker. If we can't get him down, at least get those hands in the passing lanes and deflect or bat down passes.
2) Make them beat us with the run. When youre dealing with an unbalanced offense, you want to force the opponent onto the lesser side. This is not the Pony Express we are dealing with here. Freeman and West aren't world beaters and Hicks isn't exactly the fleetest of foot either.
3) Maintain composure (as HighOnTide mentioned). We are going into a smaller stadium down in Dallas, but we need to learn from the Tech game because you have to think that they are gonna be nice and loud anyway (and for the love of God understand what a silent count means)
4) Stretch the field. Masha did better with his long balls against Jacksonville, so I think we should take some shots with all of our guys, especially Farrow and Shells. That should open up lanes for the three backs
