Due to some extenuating circumstances, we need to change our name. This would include a new domain name, as well. Since FlamesNation has always been about community, we thought it would be a great idea for you to let us know what you would like our new name to be. So, give us your best, most creative ideas, and in a couple weeks we'll pick our favorite.

One rule: your name suggestion cannot include "liberty", "flames", or "lu".

You know all the ways to reach us, but just in case you're new around here, let us know your idea by commenting on this post, or hitting us up on Twitter or on Facebook.

I would recommend keeping the Nation part of the current name.

ChampionsNation, UniverstyNation , FalwellSportsNation , BlueAndRedNation, perhaps my favorite would be AflameNation

Whatever you choose don't tell us until you have it protected legally. Don't they see the value of a venue like this for fans to come together? Has to be way more of a positive than a negative for LU. Toughen up, Buttercup!

I like something focusing around Furnace the best. For all they know though, we are talking about the Calgary Flames when referencing FlamesNation. Legally they shouldn't be able to shut down the site for that - or threaten anything of the sort.

They blocked a blog on campus that was critical of the school back in 2003. It's not new. It has gotten old and I had hoped they had grown past this vi guess not.

Just let it go and move on. I really appreciate all that you and your crew have done to provide such a great place to talk about LU sports. It has kept me connected and engaged for years in a way I never would have sustained without it.

I like some of the suggestions, but nothing really makes me say "that's it"

If you can't use Liberty, the public domain word that would clearly identify the school is Mountain
To include the Flames aspect words like fire, sparks, heat, furnace, or how about conflagration (that was for Cider) Also tinder and fuel

To be fair, this is not unique to Liberty A lot of major college message boards do not use the school's name or official team nicknames because the school didn't let them, ie The Sabre for UVA and Blue & Gold News for WVU
