Seems like a political move. They've invested in Mallet I feel bad for the kid as I think this was his best shot. I see Practice Squad as possible

He's on their 53 man roster. I don't think they wanted to take a chance of losing him to another team. Woodruff could not have landed in a better situation. I'm betting he see's some action this year

Edit: right now the Browns have 4 qb's on their 53 man roster, including Woodrum, but are expected to release one to make room for Woodrum.

Looking at the 53 man roster, it basically comes down to either Kessler or Hogan and then you have to ask which one would be of greater financial benefit to the Browns to release in favor of Josh.

I am skeptical about this league, but it is more football to watch and it won't interfere to much with baseball starting. Plus, Salt Lake is only 4 1/2 hours away from where I live in Montana. So, could be a nice trip to go see Josh play in Salt Lake City.
