It certainly makes watching NFL Network this weekend much more engaging. I hope they stay focused and perform at their peak of their capabilities.

Josh Woodrum will be getting a lot of reps as one of the three throwing QBs, so he is being given a prime opportunity to shine:

Some interesting snippets on Josh Woodrum in advance of the combine:
The combine also will offer another glance at a handful of quarterbacks the NFL did see during the all-star game circuit, aside from Wentz. Keep an eye on Liberty’s Josh Woodrum, who played in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl with fellow combine invitee and former TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin. Also worth monitoring will be Oregon’s Vernon Adams, last seen shredding the East team during the Shrine Game. (

North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz is one of the top prospects in the class and Liberty signal caller Josh Woodrum is a late round hopeful. Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said that in scouting players like them from lower levels of college football he expects to see more dominance. (

Josh Woodrum- 6’3”/234, 9 1/8” hands. This is a guy that reminds me a little bit of Matt Hasselbeck, both on and off the field. (

Lunsford ran a 4.71 40 on his first attempt. OK for a kicker I believe. I'll quite frankly be surprised if Woodrum runs that fast, although it sounds like he made a concerted effort to slim down preparing for this.

That's pretty decent for a kicker. They're not asked to run a lot

Thank you for that inspiring analysis, Nostradamus of the Gridiron.

Because of his history of inconsistancy on médium range kicks, it is very possible John could start his career as a kickoff\long FG specialist, in which case having decent size and speed to make the ocasional tackle on kickoffs would work in his favor.

Looks like Woodrum in there toss the ball to RB's as well.

He is one of the 3 "throwing" QBs who are there all week to make the necessary throws for the drills for RB DB and LB besides throwing to the receivers on Saturday.

Yep, I read that he was throwing to WR but didn't realize how extensive his work load would be. He looked good. Seemed to be the more accurate one of the 3 during the hour we watched him throw to all the RB's.

This is a big opportunity for him to really cement himself to scouts. He may not jump to the top half of the draft but he definitely could become a serious candidate for QB of the Future for a team

I hope Woodrum the best and I think he could be a solid backup in the league but QB of the future seems like quite the stretch.

I don't expect him to catch on anywhere, can't throw the long ball with any consistency. Hope I am wrong.

He has the tools to be a decent backup. Whether he will improve enough to get there is a whole other question.

4.86 40 for Josh.

Toó bad he couldn't have Lunsford pinch-run for him.

So far, Woodrum putting up some impressive numbers among other quarterbacks. He ended up having a better 40 yard dash than Vernon Adams(Oregon and E. Washington. But check this. . . as of right now, Woodrum has the best 3 cone drill time! He also was 4th best in the broad jump. One thing is for sure after today, he hasn't hurt his stock at all. I personally think he has upgraded his stock.

Josh was never known as a speedster with his legs so his 40 time doesn't really surprise me. I'm pleased with his other measurements though

Not to rain on the parade, but I don't think all the playera do every drill. Hard to believe an athlete like Driskall wouldn't even be in the top 3 in the 3 cone.

Whatever you just need to except Liberty has the best QB in America !! Lol..... All jokes aside when you have been there all week and watched/participated in every single drill it does help a TON... He certainly shouldn't have had any butterfly's during his time to shine.
