Coaching staff is burning up the trail to replace harvey. Kid is committed to missiouri state but I like our chances if we can get him here.

Two weeks ago he had no offers. After committing a week ago to the 1st offer to come his way, he picked up two today including the Flames. He'll be taking an official visit to LU this coming weekend.
Lionell McConnell
5' 11" 186 lbs Receiver
Allen (TX) HS (Transfer from Cincinnati (OH) Winton Woods HS)
Liberty
Missouri State (Committed on 1/16/16)
Southeastern Louisiana

Def like I chances here, MSU doesn't have the greatest record so that could play a big part in him coming here, that chance to win factor. You cant coach speed, not a lot of actual routes, but he can put his foot in the ground and go. Also like his return capabilities, on KOR's. Kid was explosive, only thing could change is looked to be like a lot of body catches on his deep balls, but he used hands on the tunnels and rocket screens

How about this for a 5 wide set:
OUtside:
BJ Farrow
Antonio Gandy-Golden
Inside:
Kyle Urbon
Damian King
Slot:
Lionel McConnell
and that'd be just the top 5. Add some of the other talent we have at the position and we could threaten some records in the passing game.

for right now I would still take Parker in the slot over McConnell and Shells on the Outside over Farrow with Farrow moving to Inside over Urbon
Urbon and McConnell would be my first off the bench tho as its a shame I cant even think of who our other WR are besides McCarter

Let's get letters signed before we start projecting 2-deeps.
And in case you are wondering, yes that is the Allen High School with the $75 Million stadium. They are a big school powerhouse down here. Producing at that level will get you attention that might not be there in Cincy.

Urban is going to Eastern Washington. And for those who ripped Harvey for changing his mind, I might point out that we áre asking Lionell to do the same.

kids, will most likely only change there minds if they feel they are getting something better than what they have, if its equal they will stay where they are most of the times.

When he committed a week and a half ago, Missouri State was his only offer and nearly full. Just giving a context.

free food free travel get it while you can, enjoy the experience, like I stated above he has something in the bank at least if he finds we have more to offer hes taking it, if not hes staying put. Rather simple actually

This kid is legit. Like him better than Harvey, more top end speed, and tackle breaker after the catch. He'd be a great get.

compared to what was on the table already for him, I don't see it being that hard to do.

Agreed. It's pretty clear that he was less than excited about MO St., but that was the best offer he had til we came along. He should use some of his first FCOA $$$ to send a fruit basket to David Harvey.

There were some upsides to him sticking to MSU. They play in a better league and are much closer to home. But we have a pretty high success rate of closing the deal on kids who take an official visit to Lynchburg.

I'm not at all sure Lionell considers Texas home. He just transferred this year from Cincinnati, which I believe is as close or closer to LU as to MO St.

A better league yes, but a chance to actually win I am sure HAD to play some in the decision making process. Not sure which of his family came with him, but I am sure our facilities which are top notch played a role. But lets be honest he is a football player and they want to win, he basically just got traded from the Raiders over to the Giants.(note: I hate the Giants but they win more than the Skins)
