We offered him yesterday. He picked up an offer from Eastern Washington. Looks like we're battling eastern Washington for a visit this weekend. Hopefully we can get him here for a visit since it looks like harvey is a soft commit at best.

I doubt the timing is coincidental.

Northwest Elite Index wrote:Olson-Urbon is one of the state’s more polished receivers, finishing last season with 63 catches for 1,125 yards and 18 TD’s in just 11 games. Following the season he was voted first team All-Narrows by the league’s coaches, and All-State by the Associated Press.

He is a three sport athlete, currently participating in Basketball and will run track in the spring, all while carrying a 3.2 GPA.

Over the past two years Olson-Urbon has made a name for himself in the 7-on-7 world as one of the better receivers. He twice competed for the Barton Football Academy’s top team, and was a key member of the squad that finished in the Elite Eight finish at the 101-team Pylon National Tournament. This past spring he also helped Gig Harbor to it’s second straight Battle In Seattle tournament win, once again beating the NW Alumni team of D1 signees.

LEGIT, I wonder if you could keep both him and Harvey, man uncoverable as they become better college WR's. hardest route to cover in HS is the out and he was nailing it getting both feet in the ground and coming out of his breaks. He would really work well with Harvey king himself the Grandy kid, a lot of competition I see on the horizon. Hope he commits. Only problem I see is that EW is closer to home and family but that's a heavy choice to have to make, and on top of the its not like EW is no slouch of a program. Gotta get him on campus

He has good hands. If he commits and signs to LU, I see him playing the inside slot receiver spot ala Gabe Henderson. Also we can sue him as a special teams punt / kick returner.

Here's a rather underrated part of his highlight video...his punting. He is a kid we can put back there and run a fake...BUT...he can kick it away if called upon so that we don't lose out on the field position battle, and teams will have to respect that. I mean TT is a fine punter for us (the slow release notwithstanding) but having this kid back there a few times a game could definitely give the ST coordinator some very happy dreams when game planning

I doubt we get him. Eastern Washington will put the full press on this weekend and he would be visiting us the week after signing day. I doubt ewu would hold a spot for him through signing day.

You make it sound like we wouldn't do our due diligence jinxy. You have to think that HCTG and the boys are going to do everything they can to get him in the fold, especially with Harvey flipping to UNR

You make it sound like HCTG and the boys couldn't or wouldn't put the full court press on him as well, and when they want to they can. Seems to me that the biggest thing going against LU in this scenario is the winning factor between us and them. He may like playing on that red turf and like Harvey had claimed being closer to home may play a factor. Its def going to take LU pulling out the stops for this kid.

Forbidden is right...we may have to give him the whole dog and pony show to commit here, but don't sound like they aren't willing to commit to the whole dog and pony show.

Point is. If he visited us it's after signing day. It will tough for a kid not to sign on signing day with a visit at ewu this weekend.

You are still selling our staff short though. You have to think they are giving him every reason to pick us

The post stated we are battling for his time for this weekend, its not saying that he already has it scheduled with them, maybe we could angle it as a chance to get away on a mini vacation for him, idk but the thing is wherever he ends up this weekend is probably going to get him. Regardless, clock is ticking

I just reread it on Twitter. It says he's visiting eastern this weekend and he's been invited to liberty the following weekend. Reading between the lines, once we couldn't get him here this weekend we had to make sure we had another wr this weekend and we moved to McConnell. I love that speed anyway. Both appear to be great athletes that could move positions if we were fortunate enough to get both. I just can't see the kid not signing on signing day and if we can't get him here first I would think that means he's leaning there first.

That would be stupid...

My guess he wanted the home cooking and getting to play in front of friends and family...the recent tradition at EWU and the strength of the Big Sky
