The way Mitchell Lewis assesses his recruiting situation nowadays based on the knowledge he has gained in recent months, he believes he should have been worried one year ago around this time.

“The reason why I wasn’t,” Lewis said, “is because I really didn’t understand it.”

He won't blow anyone away with his straight line speed, but he has good power for his size, he hits his holes decisively and can lay a lick with the best of them and get those tough yards.

What is your further analysis coach forbidden?

There's no difference what level you play at? Wait till he visits DII, LU, and DII; then ask him. Love the build, finds a hole exceptionally well, loves to run people over, hard to tackle, goodish speed, hope he comes.

Be good to get another physical RB in the stable to give us some depth at the position.

I love his hands as well. Having a back that can contribute in the passing game is key, especially in an uptempo offense, because that makes the coverage respect every option for a QB.

Ill say this IMMEDIATELY, im not sure of what his competition level was , but in reading comments that this kid had so so speed seems to be misleading. Seems that a lot of people forget that Emmit Smith ran 4.6 and was not this big. I would like to see what would happen once he played against his own level because per this tape he is def playing at a higher level than his peers.

this kid is a workhorse kind of back, looks like he could get stronger as game goes on, def could be a kid that carried the load
never saw him go down on first contact and delivers with low pad level, those "Coastal" style backs
patient with his lineman
and his str8 line ISO lead plays were dominant
this kid is a bigger Todd Macon and I would be amiss to say could come in and challenge for PT IMMEDIATELY.
this is a great find and steal if they could possibly land him

Thanks for the input...he certainly could inject some life into the RB battle in fall camp. His size reminds me a bit of former Stanford RB (and current Jacksonville Jaguar) Toby Gerhart. He probably could be a back to get us those tough yards on 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1 that we were not getting last season, but also could take a 4 yard run and turn it into a 64 yard TD.

I like this kid, and if I am projecting for 4 years out this kid would get my vote for being a really really sold and productive back, who I think has an intangible of catching out the backfield that many may underestimate

Looks like we can add him to the class. I like taking a flier here. Hard to read too much into the video because he's just bigger faster and stronger but he shows good hands and pretty shifty footwork. Now if we land theo it's a bonus.

I think you got everything...he would add a definite shot of adrenaline to the RB battle as I mentioned before

don't discredit the kid by saying were taking a flier, this kid is just as good as what we have in the stable RIGHT NOW, here on the mtn. You have your own opinions and that kool, but I guarantee you within his 4 years he WILL be the main guy totin the pill

Said, it once before this kid will be the steal of the signing class barring any unforeseen injury. Ive seen a lot of kids but he looks college ready right now. Once you get used to everything he will find out football is football regardless. I personally love this VERBAL.

Taking a flier is not a discount. It simply means we were the only d1 offer late in the game. I love the idea. I won't say he will be the featured back for 4 years especially if we get theo but I think there's a role for him either way. I really really like his tape. I've seen more kids from theo''s school since we've recruited it heavy recently and they've had success. What's so wrong with that. I doubt any of are really that familiar with Mitchells area.

He has great hands. He's extremely coachable. Fantastic awareness. Humble, blue collar type of player. Really high football IQ. He just plays the game the right way. Tons of intangibles. He has a lot of heart and gets the most out of his abilities. Just an absolute grinder.
This kid your little brother? :D

He is doing a great job as a HC at West Lauren's HS here in Georgia. We are region mates for the next four years. I look forward to competing against him.
