If we have any success from this point on we will have to create a lot of TOs. We are dead last in the BSC in that category. Even Presbyterian has created twice the number of TOs than we have. CSU and CCU do not turnover the ball. If stats are any predictor then we have our work cut out for us these last 3 games, two against top 15 teams.

I have a really hard time seeing the Big South as a three-bid conference, and I suspect most of the Powers that Be(tm) in the FCS do as well. Coastal is going to be in, even with a loss to Liberty. Chuck South has the autobid. Liberty, I have a feeling, is going to be one of the first out, rather than one of the last in.

That will depend on the quality of the field at 7-8 wins

I agree. Even if CCU and LU have the same record and LU beat CCU

They won't have losses to Monmouth AND Gardner-Webb on their resume. We're not getting an at-large this season. It's time to take care of Chuck South and Coastal, but as SJ said, we're playing for pride. We want to be the one Big South loss Chuckie takes into the post season, and we want to send the Beach CHickens to the Sun Belt with a big road loss. Hopefully that's enough to motivate the team.

I'm not convinced that we will be left out of the playoffs if we win out. Admittedly, we do not have an ice cube's chance in hell of making the playoffs if we do not win out. If the football team that competed against Montana and Georgia State shows up the next two weeks, we will likely win out.

Finally, while Gill may be pressured into making some coaching changes after this season is over, his job is not on the line.

I'm on the bech Woodrum bandwagon again. May as well play for the future.

I'm kicking the tires on that one. If LU was mathematically eliminated I'd buy one with a sun roof
But....if JW only plays when he is motivated to do so, nothing will/should focus him like playing his last game on ESPN. Having said that, I'd like to see a lot of Masha next week.

If we had lost today I would have been on there sitting next to you. Can´t do it yet. I think it is way premature to say w e have no shot at an at large if we win out. This time last year I would have agreed because we were the guys who had never been to the playoffs. I believe what we did against JMU and Villanova last year, both on the field and the way our fans traveled, could cause the committee to weigh quality wins a bit more and bad losses a bit less than in the past when we were always left out. Of course none of that matters if we don´t win the next 2.

I thought we beat Presby in spite of a poor performance from Woodrum and he has been mediocre overall this year, but he is still probably the best we have. I don´t think Masha gets enough credit for what he did last year, but based on comments Gill has ma de when asked about him, I don´t think they are real happy with his progress. As for the future, Masha will be the starter in Spring camp, but unless he really steps it up there I think it will be an open competition with the 2 Freshmen come August.

We couldn't get in when we had only one bad loss. We aren't getting in with one bad loss and one absolutely terrible loss. I guess you guys are just more positive than me.

The playoffs have expanded since then. That's how. It would still be a tough ell but the last two years some schools with less o their resume than we would have made it in. Once again, all discussion is predicated on us shocking the world two straight weeks.

I really don´t think it will be that shocking if we do it. With the exception of G-W, Both of those teams have struggled against some of the same BSC opponents we have. If we can beat Chucky South on the road, I will quite frankly be shocked if we DON¨T beat Coastal at the Bill.

Thanks beej.

I'm aware of the changes but after everything that happened this week the deck is stacked against us even more. Again you guys are always more positive than I am. I just don't see it happening.

If we could win out, there is also the additional MEAC slot available...

There is a good chance that the MEAC's second place team will make the playoffs. We need to trade that 2nd FBS game for a middle tier FCS team- and one that doesn't play in the Missouri Valley. Maybe someone from the Socon like Samford.
