First game at Williams Stadium that I not be at since 2006 season. Our performance the 2 previous games has nothing to do with it. I will be in Alabama.

Their offense concerns me only because triple option teams have given us fits in the past.

I agree 100%, SJ. The last thing we want to deal with after two duds is a completely different scheme.

Would any film from VMI prove helpful? I know they haven't run it since...I believe 2010 but we could learn some principles if it could be of some import

for the most part its the same offense that CSU runs, a true triple but at this point they have no choice but to game plan, they cant just let stuff and or anyone else's scheme just slide by without the utmost of due diligence

Probably film on Kennesaw State will help. Just a wild guess though.

At this point, it's not about our opponent.

I'm aware of that...I'm asking if we can possibly supplement with any VMI film from the last year or so of their triple option, even though they last ran it about 5 years ago and use some game plan principles in our prep for the KSU triple

Beej - why would we use VMI when their coach comes from the Paul Johnson tree? If we're going to use a team that's not Kennesaw, why wouldn't it be Georgia Tech?

Because we never played Georgia Tech. My thought was to use a team we played previously and try to glean from our past performance. If we had matched up with the Yellow Jackets then yeah I say pull that film...but the Roos are the only team u recall us playing even somewhat recently that ran that offense

At this point I just want a win and coastal to lose.

That would make things really really interesting. We still have a chance to tie !

yeah, Coastal hasn't played all that well so it isn't out of the realm of possibility but it is highly doubtful.

We need CSU and Coastal to win out (with Coastal beating CSU) until we play them to have any small chance of making the playoffs

Are you thinking an at-large slot?

Here's the remaining schedule for all the teams that have fewer losses than us in the Big South:

Coastal Carolina - Monmouth, Charleston Southern, Gardner-Webb, Kennesaw State, Liberty
Charleston Southern - Gardner-Webb, Coastal Carolina, Kennesaw State, Liberty, Alabama
Kennesaw State - Liberty, Monmouth, Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina, Presbyterian
Monmouth - Coastal Carolina, Kennesaw State, Presbyterian, Gardner-Webb
Gardner-Webb - Charleston Southern, Presbyterian, Coastal Carolina, ETSU, Monmouth

Anything can happen, I guess. Presbyterian took both Coastal Carolina and Charleston Southern to the wire, and Kennesaw State might give them fits. We just have to do our job and let the rest fall where it may.

Basically to earn the auto we need to win out and have everyone else lose at least twice. To have a chance at an at large we have to win out. We do have two bad losses but by winning out we would have wins over three ranked FCS opponents including a top 3-5 in Coastal.

Yes, the auto bid is pretty much impossible. Two impressive victories to finish off the season, along with submitting a decent bid and having a large attendance can't be ignored. I don't see how they can send 1 team from the Big South. I've seen a few brackets that currently have CSU playing in the 1st round and Coastal getting the bye. It's not guaranteed, but at least there is hope as along as we take of our business and hopefully Coastal beats CSU no more than two touchdowns.

Another thing you have to consider is the JMU victory from last year, especially if they win out. I know I know, it was last year; but we gave them their last loss and proved that we can win on the road in a playoff atmosphere.

For those who think that submitting a good bid will do anything for LU's at-large hopes, stop. That's not how it works. Bids aren't even looked at until the selections and pairings are made. Only then are bids opened to determine who will host. You cannot buy your way into the playoffs. You can buy your way into a home game, but not into the field.

We are Liberty. We can do whatever the heck we want. Didn't you learn that?
