I guess I'm glad I didn't watch it
Did Gill go for it on 4th down in OT? If so, he was just doing what some said he should and not use Lunsford close in.

We have absolutely imploded the last two games. I walked out of the Georgia Dome two weeks ago with a pretty good feeling about the rest of the season. WTF

I didn't believe Lunsford would make it either, so there.

That Thursday night game against Coastal just went from 20,000+ to about 15-16,000.

Why...WHY...call that on a 4th and 2 knowing that if you don't convert, they simply need a field goal to win...I would remember the phrase, "he who fights and runs away, lives to fight another day". I send Lunsford out, knowing he has the wind at his back, kick the field goal, TAKE THE POINTS...and send the defense out to try and get a stop so that we either get another possession on offense or end the game.
I'm going to leave my comments to that, because I am angry enough about today's performance that I could snap at anyone on here and say something I'm going to regret, but I will continue to support this team, unlike I'm sure more than a few others on here including flameshaw.
Good night and Go Flames.

Good night and Go Flames.
Based on past performance it was no guarantee hed make it. Plus, it was a gut check for upper class men. They threw up.
Talk of firing Gill is stupid. I think the comment on the other thread about a details guy, I believe they are called 'Quality Control Coaches' might not be a bad idea. But the schemes have been sound. Execution at the point of attack has not. What other QB do we have in the stable other than Masha? They both need to get some time so we can prep for next year.

This would be his first losing season if he had one so that's just crazy, this came down to execution and as your leader JW crapped the pot when it was most crucial. Everyone knew it was going to be speed option so conventional wisdom would be read that inside guy if he shows u have the two yard pass needed, instead u run the option and has been done before he has bad pitch and or rice has bad hands and it cost the game. JL was so bad you can't really depend on him so I'm sure that's why he didn't kick it, and tbh they had not shown they could stop speedo all night.
But forget about that what about your leader not being able to get the two or try that would have nullified their fg try to begin with.

I can't believe the season is done. I knew we were going to have a tougher schedule this year, but I thought we were golden after Georgia State. I don't know what to say. The way Presbyterian took both Coastal and Charleston Southern to the wire, and with Kennesaw State winning like it has, there's no game remaining on our schedule that we couldn't lose.
We can't even win the usual Big South co-championship now. As Coach Gill just said, "hopefully, we can have a winning record". Such high hopes...I'm always a fan, and I'll be at the games, but I'm very disappointed.

Ok correction, I will make one general comment and then I have to clock in for work:
I believe Gill is the man for the job. He was in his last year with a mix of his recruits and the previous coach, and I am not in favor of causing any instability at this juncture with the recruits we have committed already.
I also believe that its a shame to take the time to point out things like whether or not the AD posts a "win or lose" picture on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Whether he does or not isn't important. What is important is that we carry ourselves in a way that glorifies God, regardless of whether we win or lose, and regardless of whether or not some picture is made public about it.
I'm out boys...feel free to flame me if you want, but I'm going to help people. Good night

The victory was the first for Monmouth over a FCS-ranked program.
They're partying in West Long Branch, NJ tonight.

No flames from me, BJ. Thanks for the perspective. I feel badly for the team, the program and the school, but this, too, shall pass.

Indefensible performance. Looking forward to hearing the usual bromides from coach and QB in the presser.
To be a Libery fan is to know disappointment. Perpetually.

I actually agreed with them going for it on 4th. It sucks Lunsford has put the staff in that position. I don't know if gill is the right man for the job but I think it is time to take a long hard look at your team and begin playing for the future.

The team just doesn't have the heart to win on the road.

The point is don't brag about win or lose and then not post the picture when we lose.
I think it's more Jeff being angry at the result than embarrassed to post the picture.

Yep. If the players didn't care when it mattered why will they care when it doesn't? The kids coming back next year have something to prove. Play em!

I purposely never post on the postmortem, especially after a loss. The talk of firing Gill is absurd and equally as embarrassing as the last 2 weeks.
The players have quit, plain and simple. There is no leadership on this team, there is no chemistry and there is certainly no trust. I absolutely do not blame the most accomplished coach in program history for this season. It's on the players. Their sense of entitlement is disgusting. Wins and championships are earned - WE EARNED our playoff appearance last year - they are not given or donated.
The players have let the coaches, fans, school and program down. Not Gill.

We go from "national title contender" to "hopefully we can have a winning record."
It's been a great four weeks, boys!

Who sets the culture of the team?
Who recruits the players?
Who gives leadership roles?
While players make or do not make plays, in college athletics, things fall on the head coach. Fairly or unfairly.
