I hope we win remaining games by more than 40-10. I would like to see some 62-10 games.

But I will be happy with just wins.

It may take you 4-5 hours.

GWU seems to be a pretty young team. Probably be more competitive in a year or two.

Coach McCray is a class act that is still cleaning up the Dickerson-infused dumpster fire he inherited, capped off with the postseason ban this year. That being said, he gets a full pass for this season, but we've got to show some progress next, especially on the offensive side of the ball. The offense has been weak since he arrived, even with a senior QB last year and an NFL practice squad WR like Cook as well. Our D is stout but the question is how much longer do they bust their butts when there is absolutely zero offensive production. If not for them, VUU would have embarrassed us here a few weeks ago, and we only managed 13 on them. We went down to Wofford and held them to 16 in a shutout. We can keep it close with y'all for awhile.

Yet again, someone in our brilliant admin thought it a good idea to have Homecoming when y'all came in. That worked so well two years ago. Instead of a 24-0 spanking this time, it will be more like 38-6. At least the kick is at night, something I've wanted to see on our Homecoming for awhile.

jcmanson wrote:Hey g-webb94, why do you say McCray gets a full pass this season? This is his 3rd season, don't you expect to see some improvement by now? Not baiting, just a sincere question.
One, the team has zilch to play for. Pulling the chance, be it slight, for postseason play stings.

Two, and more importantly, to know just how bad things were over at GW after the two year reign of terror by Dickerson, it has taken him three years to clean it up. Players obviously mailing it in academic-wise, in trouble off the field, and the coaching staff itself wasn't behaving as well. A terrible two years. He might not be the long-term solution for us, but Coach McCray, being an alum as well, walks the walk, not only as a coach and ambassador for GW, but on the spiritual side as well. He's been the perfect choice to clean up the mess and at least get the program pointed in the right direction, whether he stays one or ten more years.

Agreed. McCray was an excellent choice for GWU. Like you, I think he just needs more time.

And if Coastal and Liberty are out of the way, the path to the FCS playoffs might be very attainable soon. I have liked what I have seen from McCray. Much like the situation down in Clinton, this is not an easy situation to win but it is possible. Hopefully McCray is the right man for you all.

Where does Charleston Southern fit into the Big South title race? Currently they are 3-1 with their best win over The Citadel. ETSU is awful, beat a DII and lost to Georgia Southern. They have a chance to be win out until they play Coastal and us, both at their place. They also beat us last year, albeit with Woodrum.

I think it will be competitive. CSU is still dangerous, but the talent gap between the two teams is larger than it was last season.

CSU should win their next 3 to get to 6-1 and they will be ranked in the top 25 when they host Coastal. I'm interested to see how the Monmouth @ CSU game goes this weekend.

Our game with them does scare me a bit since it is on the road and just 5 days before the Thursday night ESPNEWS Coastal game.

Can we keep our coverage of the Coastal game to the appropriate thread, Manson? This is clearly the GW thread and therefore should not be discussing Coastal at all.... since you know... that's all you do.
