After what happened at Indiana State last year, I don´t think there is any way we are not 100% focused against these guys. They may be a mid-pack team in their conference, but it´s the best conference in FCS. I feel confident we will bring our A game.

reading their message board they don't even believe that they can win, that's not the norm for a LU team now is it.

Sounds like the fans aren't too happy with their team and the athletic program is having money issues? Seems like they have low expectations against us. We can't come out flat. Right now we need to win, and start winning convincingly. Time for us to show This Is Liberty to the nation!

Their board is pretty depressing.
People are afraid of us. This feels weird.

WOW. That's definitely not what I'm used to from other team's boards.

These guys lost 49-48 to a 3-0 Indiana on the road. If we don't go in their house with a chip on our shoulders we will lose.

This is the same team that lost to SEMO though! And wants their coach fired!

True, but they were on the road, lost 7 turnovers and stll only loss on the last play of the game. Liberty will be their first home game this year. They will bring a lot of energy. Not saying we won't win but we can certainly lose this one if we take them lighly.

This is a trap game. FBS team coming up on the road and we just beat the #7 team in the country. this could very well end like ISU did last year. I pray that I am wrong but history tells me we don't show up for this game.

History shows we collapse and lose to Montana. While I completely undertand where you're coming from, history from the Rocco era is becoming less and less relevant.

Here's to the future!!!

This is what we can prove this weekend with a W:

We've turned the corner as a program. We aren't defined by our history. We are a national championship contender this season.

Difference was ISU was no slouch of an opponent.

I'd say it's more of a Liberty-era thing than Rocco. It seems to be our story across the board in a lot of sports.

But, like Jon said, we're rewriting our tendencies every week. This is another chance to do that.

Manson, They may need you to fly over to Illinois and deliver a pregame speach.

Well said.

On paper LU wins this game easily. In reality, if LU shows up and wins the turnover battle they win easily.

If the coaching staff can keep us focused of the idea that we have not "arrived" this season (which from the sound of Coach Gill's comments we certainly haven't), we certainly can win this game (I had us picked to win by 3 this week during the preseason). We got "drunk" off a big win last year vs. Bryant at home and we ended up getting steamrolled by Indiana State next time out. We have our foot on the gas right now going into this 4 game road stretch from Carbondale to Atlanta to Boiling Springs to West Long Branch. Now is not the time to rest. If we can come out of this stretch 4-0 (which I believe we can), we will be 6-1 heading into the last game before the bye week at home for Alumni weekend against Kennesaw State. But to get to 4-0, we have to get to 1-0 this week.

7 turnovers committed. Wow. Hoping that's a pattern and not a fluke.

Those TO'S & a failed two point conversion in last seconds against Indiana is only thing keeping this from being a possible top 10 matchup. They had almost 700 yards offense against Indiana. Plus, they have had two weeks to prepare for us and we are their first home game.

We better be ready. They may be better than Montana.
