For everyone coming to the game, wanted to be the first to welcome you to Morgantown! The weather forecast doesn't look the best right now, but a little rain never hurt anyone.

Let me know if anyone has any questions about Morgantown or game day and I'll do my best to give good answers.

I'll be heading up on Friday, and plan to meet with some of your alumni staff towards the end of the day. I have to admit...the first time we came to WVU I was pretty worried about the horror stories I heard. However nothing could have been further from the truth. EVERY SINGLE fan I encountered was nothing but hospitable and extremely complimentary of our school/team. Most of the people I tell that to are surprised...but it's the honest truth. The majority of the fans wanted to learn more about Liberty and our team after what I'd consider to be a pretty good showing. Hopefully we can do the same again this year. :)

Thank you for taking the time to reach out...another example of the type of fans WVU has.

I will likely be driving in from the east (I-68). What would an appropriate time be to get into town? How much traffic should I expect?

With the 3:00 kickoff traffic won't be as bad as a noon game where everyone rushes to get there at once. I would try to make it into town by 1:00 at the latest. Our group will be set up in the Green Lot by 10:00.

The WVU fans were amazing the last time we were there! I planed to go again this year but my fathers dream was for me to see a Notre Dame game. I will be at UVA game watching as an away fan with my son that he never had the chance to meet. It should be a fun day:) I don't know if I really like the coach at WVU but I DO love WVU, there players, and there fan base!

The cool thing we're seeing with Coach Holgorsen right now is his transformation and how the state is changing him. He has embraced West Virginians and is learning just how much the university means to everyone who calls WV home. Coach Huggins has helped him along as well.

I hope so. My jury is still out on him. WVU means almost as much as the mines to the WV folks. He will have a much better go of it when he embraces that. WVU can be a very loyal fan base but can be the opposite when not respected (like a coach in AZ found out)

Holgy is slowly growing on me. He is a completely different coach he was 5 years ago. It is his first gig as a coach and he has had to mature. He recently did his bathroom in the coal stone that looks awesome. Also I like his recent hires the past 2-3 years of bringing wv guys back to coach. His best hire was Gibby as the defensive coordinator, a Van, WV native. Also bringing Bruce Tall back has significantly helped the d-line. I think he's starting to see what WV football means to the state. WV football really represents who the state is and our heritage. This is why I will root for wvu over liberty. Although Liberty has given me a great education and spiritual footing, my heritage is in the state of wv. Wv is a hard working blue-collar state. You either work in the mining, lumber, or agriculture industry. These industries have been good to my family since they moved to "western Virginia" in the 1700s up to my Father and brother that work in the coal mines. When an athlete chooses to play at wvu, they aren't just choosing a school. They are a choosing a state. It's special. I see Holgy moving in this direction. There is something brewing in Morgantown. When a team captures this mentality, it is a recipe for something great. Just look at 2005-2007 in the Pat White era. Or in the lat 80s/early 90s with Don Nehlan.

I couldn't agree more with everything you say. If we can get a defense at least on Par with the rest of the Conference we should be alright. But I have 2 questions:
Best place to get WVU gear before the game
What were you doing in Holgy's bathroom?

Im driving up from Lynch burg tomorrow so I'm not sure best place. My guess would be there is always a tent set up near the tail-gating/entrance to stadium that sells gear. Usually their prices are very reasonable, also they have previous years discounted gear for sale as well. I bought a previous years jersey a few years back for like 20$ which is very reasonable considering they are normally 50$+. On the question of DH bathroom. He posted a picture of it on his twitter page a few weeks back. Also posted a way that they did in the coal stone in the locker room. I'll post links to the new walls. Images too big to insert into post.

Not saying that UNC & NC State are in the same league as WVU but fans in the stadium in both those games were discussing Liberty and going on line to find out why Liberty was hanging with their team when they expected 60-0 blowouts (at least up till 4th qtr.).

Cool. We are heading up tomorrow as well but crashing in Frostburg (great Italian restaurant there) We usually hit the stores over by The Beanery area. We are a king arriving around 11 or 12 and crashing some tailgate parties

Stay away from the moonshine. It's flows like a river at wvu tailgates. It'll make you wanna burn stuff down. I'll be at a tailgate in blue lot. Wearing grey wvu shirt and red liberty hat.

Why Sir I do declare. I would never embibe in the Devils Water served in Mason Jars that may or may not taste like red hots or apple pie :speakhearsee

Marshall alum here with 2 questions:

1. If WVU wins, where's the best place to see a couch burning?
2. Where's the best place to get an authentic northern WV pepperoni roll?

Just go to a tailgate and ask them for a homemade pepperoni roll and say that you're a liberty fan. Feel free to go to multiple tailgates asking to taste which one is the best. Inside the stadium they serve juliannas Pepperoni rolls that are good and hot. they are a great quality mass produced pepperoni rolls. I prefer the peperjack cheese ones. Random fact for you. Pepperoni rolls were invented in WV by the wives of Italian immigrants that worked in coal mines. They would pack their husbands lunch buckets with rolls stuffed with pepperoni.

On couch burning. Not sure if there will be any but the best bet is to be on grant ave or high st (ironic)at night. The students in the last few years have taken up car flipping. The old saying goes, " WVU, where couches are burned and education is learned."
