Christian flag disappears on game day

Something struck me on Saturday night as I was leaving the stadium after staying for the movie. Why does the largest Christian university take down the Christian flag on game day and then replace it after the game is over? The American flag is not replaced with a logo flag. Should we not be proud to fly the Christian flag during football games, being that the motto is "champions for Christ?" I'm all for the colorful logo flags, but could there not be a flag pole left to fly the Christian flag?

I also noticed that Doc's 71 flag changed colors. Didn't it used to be black?

No. It was dark blue.

Im sure there isn't some deeper tinfoil hat, "grab the pitchforks, the school is going liberal" conspiracy behind that WVflame. Do I know what the reason behind it is...absolutely not, but not everything is a sign of the school taking steps counter to its given mission.

I was taking a neutral taking. Wasn't too worried just intrigued. I worry less about a flag. There is many others things that take precedence over a flag that worry me.

Never realized this happened and honestly don't care too much either. I've never understood the flag worship in many Christian circles. Not trying to say FlameFanva is a flag worshipper, just making a statement.

I say we do the pledges before every game. Pledge of Allegiance, Christian, and shoot lets go for awana as well and throw up an awana flag. At half time instead of the band playing Katy Perry we can do sword drills!

I don't like the "christian" flag anyway.

The guy in advertising doesn't get the power of a symbol?
China has pulled down crosses from hundreds of churches recently. Why? Surely it can't be because symbols have the power to inspire, give identity and express the shared heartfelt beliefs of people?
And, in violation of the first two of the Ten Commandments, who are the Christian flag worshippers "in many Christian circles"? Name the groups.
While it's hard to understand something that you've never seen, it shouldn't be hard to understand why the Christian Flag, with its colors and design representing biblical themes, is important and used by Christian groups around the world.
I don't know if the situation FlameFanVA described is accurate, but if it is, then it is curious and deserves an explanation.

The good Christian Music disappeared as well, while we are at it.
Yeezus (Kanye West's self given nickname to reflect how much of savior and god he is), was our go to artist on Saturday.

It would be different if there wasnt good Christian music out there. Or even a pop/rap artists that didnt refer to themselves as Jesus would be fine by me. Get off my lawn too.

These things do make a difference. The chief objective of having a great bowl division football team was to provide a huge platform for the spread of the gospel.

On the Christian Flag - didn't notice it and don't think it's a big deal. If they stop holding prayer before the start of the game, then this will be a bigger issue that I will worry more about.

I think there are certain artists that should be avoided (like Kanye). But I have no problem with them playing Taylor Swift and some of the other tasteful (somewhat) artists that have hit songs. Christian music has progressed a long way in the past 10 yrs, particularly in the Hip Hop genre... but it's still a long way off from being accepted to the point that it makes you get up and dance. I still heard some of the Christian rap artists being played though.

The music used to be terrible now we've gone too far the other way. The new speakers are incredible though

We should just play old hymns over PA. Do not conform to the world's taste in music.

This is where I fall. I wasn't there so I don't know where they landed musically, but what you described is the balance we need.

You realize the old hymns were new when they were written, using the technology available at that time, right?
As for Kanye, he should be avoided at all costs. However I would have no problems if we decided to blast the opening riff of Guns N' Roses "Sweet Child of Mine."

Its a very fine line, and I wont pretend to have the answers. There were no songs that I stood back and was like, wow, I cant believe they played that. But the Yeezus thing bothers me.

I don't know if Kanye was played or not. I'm so out of touch with modern music. LOL
Can't go wrong with some AC/DC Thunderstruck though.
