Tyre was recently chosen as the top performer in a regional QB camp, beating out former LU prospect and Bucknell commit Jacob Wilson. It was actually Jacob´s HS QB coach who picked the winner, which in fact may have worked against him since there could be a tendency to not want to appear biased toward your own player.

Tyre just took his official visit, and it looks like it went well.

Let´s see if our track record with players we get to the mountain continues. This kid is a 6´4¨ 205 3 star recruit who is an athlete and a leader. If we can land him along with the earlier commit from Yearick, I think we can breath a lot easier about the future where QB is concerned.

So could'nt seal the deal on the official, hope he doesn't wait too long and end up not being able to jump on that flame train. They look like they're really trying to put someting good together.

It´s actually not the norm for a prospect to commit while they are still on campus. We´ve had a couple recently, but it´s the exception, rather than the rule. It´s wise for the kid, no matter how much he loved the visit, to wait til he has gotten back home and had a chance to digest everything and talk to parents, HS coach and other advisors before making the decision.

or to put it bluntly waiting for an offer he deems better. So if we want him gonna have to go get him

Well definitely less than 24 hours, but I wouldn't compare him exclusively to Mike Brown...I'd say he is a hybrid of sorts of him and Mr Woodrum. He has the size like Josh, can make all the throws and has a very solid IQ (both on and off the field), but he has the wheels like Mike to run when the play calls for it, but also to make plays when the pocket breaks down as well. which is something both of them have shown they can do. I would hope though that, should he come to the mountain. that he doesn't try to carry the ball as much as Mike did, especially his last season or two.

Too early to compare him to anyone at this point. He’s raw, but looks good in the pocket and has the ability to escape from the rush when the D gets too close, which will bode well for receivers that need time to get open in passing situations. It would be nice if he commits to LU. Plus the old skool KRS1, aka Boogie Down Productions playing in the background gives him a extra thumbs up in my book as well.

I wouldn´t rule out signing 3 when you consider that with the loss of Bradwell we have essentially not signed a QB in 2 years. One of them will actually have to be our backup in 16 because we have only Masha returning. We would probably redshirt the other 2, but if someone gets hurt we might have to pull the shirt off of one of them. Also, Givers-Wilson looks to be an athlete who could possibly play WR or safety down the road if he doesn´t win the starting job.

Kyle tweeted Miami
Stam tweeted that we got ä slinger¨

While noone actually said ä slinger from Miami¨ it looks like our staff is having some fun with twitter by tag teaming the info. In any event, our OC is saying we got a QB. Could be Givers-Wilson or Calvert. I´d be more than happy with either, but I´m greedy enough to want both.
