Jeff Barber tweeted a picture of the video board with steel on top to handle the new sound system. It looked like the old video board. Are we not getting the new video board that was mentioned when they talked about updating the stadium?

As far as I know, that video board is either moving to the other end of the stadium or over to track and field. The steel supports are so that LU doesn't have to continue to bring in portable speakers for every game.

Seems to me a great promotion opportunity : NCAA Football 15 with LU as a team!

I would not be opposed to having it put up on other end would enhance the stadium that much more. If they want one for trand and field then just go buy another one, but don't take it from football if you don't have to.

Swimming pools on both sides of the sidewalk would be pretty cool

The speaker system should be moved to east side of Candler's Mountain, and even there it may be too loud.

Speakers are entirely too LOUD. I was at Fan Fest Saturday, and music emitting from them were unbearable.

that's because you inadvertently attended FAN fest

what you needed to attend was CURMUDGEON fest.

that's being held from 4:30 pm to 5:00 next Wednesday- just after tea, but definitely before bedtime (7pm).

Its midweek so you can rest up from all that raking and guarding of your lawn that you did on Saturday morning, and consists of 5 min of light stretching, 5 min of whispering and sipping water from paper cups, wrapped up with 5 min of sitting quietly.

bring sunglasses, a shawl, and maybe a wrap to protect from potential wind burn.

definitely no kids, no music, no yelling- even skipping football this time since someone could get hurt.

enjoy yourself.

If anyone on this board was at fan fest, they will agree that music was too loud.

I wasn´t there, but I suspect your statement is highly innacurate. Did you hear a bunch of other people complaining about how loud the music was when you were there? If so, were any of them under 60?

You have made it abundantly clear that you don´t particularly like music at any volume during a sporting event, and your opinion of what is too loud seems to be different from the average fan. You obviously like going, and the people who make those decisions are not going to change it based on the opinion of one. :oldhag , so you need to cope with it. May I suggest earplugs?

or rather large earphones like they have at NASCAR races so you can listen to the game and ignore all the other stuff since you clearly are against fun

It was too loud to hear others complaining. It was too loud to hear anything.

If loud music helps win games, we will go undefeated at home this season.

I think it's just slightly too loud. It's worse if you sit in the upper deck.

Although, I'd prefer it to be too loud than too soft. I hate it when I can't hear what the field announcer is saying. Plus, once all of the people get in there and start cheering, you need it to be loud to be heard.

If they cheered softer the music wouldn't have to be as loud!
