Delaware State, Montana (HoF Game) and Kennesaw State (Homecoming) are all 7 pm while Coastal and PC (Military Appreciation) are 3:30.

the way I figure it, we ought to have only 2 primetime kickoffs: Hall of Fame weekend and either Homecoming or the home opener (depending on the magnitude of opponent). I figure with 6 home games we can have 2 7 pm kicks, 2 3:30 pm kicks and 2 1 pm kicks later in the season. I mean, after we beat CCU last year, we had the whole rest of the day to celebrate, although too bad the students were all dispersed for Thanksgiving break that weekend.

Im not a fan of it either. When I was in band, I wouldn't get back to the dorm until 1030 or 11. Personally Id rather that be a 3:30, but if we can get a bigtime opponent, an occasional primetime game is one I can stomach (especially after a win).

Opening night absolutely. I actually didn't mind it last year in the first week of October. Late October will be too cold for the average fan, especially in a game where no one cares about the opponent. The stadium will be empty after halftime.

From the standpoint of someone traveling in for the weekend, it's also pretty horrible to have it at 7. Because the game ends so late, you really can't do much after the game. It also blows your Sunday morning because you're having to pack and then leave. With a 3:30 kick, you can have dinner with out of town friends and pack up after the game. Then Sunday morning you still have the opportunity for church or breakfast somewhere other than the hotel.

A 3:30 game would've been much better but what do I know?

I agree with you JOn. I was very wiped out after the game last year, and didnt get to my bed until after the late news

Ugh. I hate the late game times. I wonder if students are more prone to leave at halftime for 3:30 games compared to 7PM kickoffs.

A 3:30 kickoff puts half-time right around dinner time and that's one of the reasons a lot of students leave, with kickoff at 7 most students are smart enough to eat BEFORE the game and aren't hungry at halftime and won't leave. Until the end of October, than weather becomes a much bigger factor than the ravenous appetite of a college student.

I was hoping to bring my daughter down with me for homecoming but a 7pm game means I'll be watching from home. Such a shame.

That's why it doesn't make sense for homecoming. I get it for other games. Homecoming is the one game each year where the students may not be the most important.

I don't mind the late start as I live about 10 min away. However I do ask the team to close this one out in 4 quarters this time. Lol

If it was a 3:30, I could make it a family trip and bring the pregnant wife as well as our son and only need to take the one day off work. With a 7 pm game, I will still try to make it, but she with her probably 8 months along or so, she will not be joining me in Williams Stadium.

my most memorable drive home: 3+ hours drenched and depressed after the home game vs. JMU. It makes last years playoff win so much sweeter.

While im sure you are trying to be funny, you do understand that driving 3 hours with an 8+ month pregnant wife is not the best decision...

Cider can correct me, but doesn't applying it make it applicable, in the literal sense? If you apply it, then it is obviously able to be applied.
