MARION — When Camden Wilson first arrived on the scene at Marion for his junior year in 2013, he made an immediate impact for the Bulldogs, who went on to break a 35-year drought by winning an outright district championship on the gridiron.
Wilson, a transfer from California, recalls that playing both sides of the ball for Class 3A Marion was a bit of a departure from his previous role.
Nearly everyone here has moved from somewhere else. It is why locals refer to this as the Promised Land. The kid did spend two years outside of San Antonio at a small 3A school. We use a 6A system here in Texas for public schools that actually breaks into 14 divisions for football.

What some people tend to forget is that, despite the fanfare of "National Signing Day", you get a lot of kids that sign after NSD. You probably can pick up more than a few gems. Hope this kid is one of those gems for us

Contrary to the report in the Seguin Gazette, Wilson has NOT signed with LU. This is according to a source who states his signing ceremony was a "fake signing."

I have zero direct knowledge of this situation. But my guess is that he has decided to go to LU and try to walk on instead of go the D3 route at nearby Texas Lutheran or one of other smaller local schools. Yeah, there is some theater involved in the announcement. But I think you guys might be making this out to be a bigger deal than it is. I love seeing kids wanting to be a part of our school.

I get spunk and the power of social media but you have to admit that it's a little strange for a non-scholarship student-athlete.
I think he's creating pressure for himself and an expectation that he will stand out on the field. Some might interpret "his signing" as a scolding to the LU coaches that they didn't offer him in the first place. I guess it's fine.....if he performs...
You are only 18 once....might as well live life with confidence.

I'm guessing it's parents who wanted to do something for their special little boy and faked the signing. Our coaches don't even know who this kid is.

This is clearly on par with an undrafted rookie trying to make a squad, if he makes it great, if not not $$$ is vested. UDFA choose there squads he chose LU.

Has anyone actually just asked the kid directly what he's doing?? You guys have his Instagram acct posted. Someone should just flat out ask him why he created a fake signing. Maybe the poor kid doesn't even know what's going on and his highschool coach made up the whole thing?

Say what, did you even look at the picture, it looks like there are papers in front of him, his coach wearing a basketball shirt, him wearing a flames shirt and his parents. I hate to tell you he knew exactly what was going on. Why should we contact him, if it was legit i'm sure he would be welcomed with open arms, but since its not, ill just worry about the guys that are here like the kid cam jones who was so excited to get his college number assigned to him.

And Jones runs a legit 4.4 40. Something tells me this kid does not.

I wanna see that, his film never has him pull away from anyone, and a 4.4 in HS is blazing. I have high 4.5 - low 4.6 at least on film, but this kid has ALOT of dog in him. He want to get after it on every play. Good to see him on this side, just hope it translates to college success.
