Why the silence on Hagen? We heard repeatedly throughout the season that he could go 7th round or higher.

Is the FFF assumption that he will be an undrafted signee?

If he goes as projected, he won't hear his name until tomorrow so not too much cause for concern at this point.

Just curious....who is the big stud (i.e. best player) coming out of the Big South this year?

According to NFL.com/ASN Chad Hamilton then Hagen.

Quinn Backus probably will hear his name called today as well

Not necessarily. He had a great college career as a LB, but is undersized, and is making the move to safety. Even so, at 5'9" there are going to be serious concerns as to whether he can handle NFL tight ends. He also didn't help himself with a best 40 time of 4.74.

I haven't seen QB's name come up in any projections and I have seen scores of them. Hagen & Hamilton both pop up in the 7th round of about half the ones I have seen. All three will likely be invited to camps.

While it is probably NFL-driven, I'm not sure moving to safety is a good move for Backus. I'm thinking his lack of height and speed may be more an issue as a DB than his lack of weight is as a LB. He has proven he is a master of getting off blocks and is both a sure tackler and a hard hitter, which is a combination you really don't see that often. I think if he could put on 10 lbs his chances as a 225 lb LB are better than as a slow 5'9" safety. Think London Fletcher/Sam Mills/Zach Thomas.

Did Hagen end up signing with the Rams as a free agent? the football page mentioned it but I can't find it anywhere online.

Im not seeing it either, but it looks like NFL.com and ESPN.com haven't updated their transaction sections to reflect UFA signings

Chad Hamilton, Backus, and Hagen go undrafted so did the Big South get shut out this year?

IT is a rare year that the league ever gets anyone drafted.

Monmouth's Neal Starling went to the Jaguars with the 220th pick.

From a small school.
I am really tired of hearing that. We may be FCS, but LU has more students than Notre Dame (end of rant). Study

The general media sentiment is that if it isn't Division I-A/FBS, its considered "small school" football (except North Dakota State of course)

What about shaquille Riddick. Drafted 158. He played his first 3 seasons at gardner Webb and then transferred to wvu. He can be considered big South.

In a technical sense he would be scored for the Big 12 since he was at West Virginia when his name got called...but hey WVflame, whatever helps you sleep at night.

Niko Davis signed with the Steelers and Kenny Scott was invited to the Colts rookie mini-camp to try out.
And BJ, try to be nice.
