Yes there is a defense for our kicker, he is human and he missed. However, to sit there and say HE cost us the game is ridiculous. Sure they both left what 10 pts on the board? How many over thrown passes and dropped passes did we have? How many points did the ENTIRE offense leave on the board? Two TD's at least I recall.
BOTTOM LINE: Our team does not know how to win! That is not a completely fatal problem, but not a suprising one either. They have been beat down for the last years for many different reasons. When you add to that a roster of D1 transfers who were necessarily the "stars" of their team you have a chemistry problem. It is going to take some time to "teach" them how to win. It can and has been done in the past, and I have no reason to doubt the Coach Rocco can get that done.
As for the "gaul" to use foul language, I have two thoughts. If you look at the type of players that we have brought in, then we shouldn't be suprised if that type of conducts occurs. I do disagree that this is something that can not be curbed. The coach I played for might be what you would call intense. But he had his rules one of which "If you can't control your mouth you can't control your game." If he heard ANY swearing (Crap, and Frick were allowed) he would not get mad he would just blow his whistle put us on the line and run us.........ALOT!!!! That way we held each other accountable. Not that I would know...

.... but he REALLY didn't like someone to use the F word during a game. My legs STILL are sore from that one.
