Is anyone else just sitting here tonight wondering what the (bad word) happened earlier today? I feel like I should be out at a party celebrating or something and instead I'm just sitting here in a daze. Was it a dream that we missed four kicks or did it really happen? Did kickers really screw LU on homecoming two years in a row? Just making sure it's not just me.

I just read through the game thread and that last drive was so hard to read. My heart sank even lower. If you had 8 wins in the pool you're pretty much out now.

In your kickers defense, that was a pretty stiff crosswind, and those weren't the first kicks we've blocked this year. CJ Herbert, who blocked the extra point and created the lane for Travis McLaurin to block the FG, blocked a FG attempt by Rob Zarilli of Hofstra, the best kicker in the A-10.

There is no defense for our kicker. Vey poor performance and has been pretty much all year. Thanks for trying to make us feel better, but in this case it didn't work. There were other mistakes by other players, but the kicking game was particularily glaring.

But if the QB hits even ONE of those overthrown passes, it doesn't matter that the kicker can't kick. As bad as the missed kicks were (and I started hiding my eyes when he came on to kick), it wasn't the only thing that cost us the game.

And did anyone else notice they goofed up calling dead ball penalties? Twice it should have been 1st and 25 -- once for LU and once for W&M -- and they called it 1st and 10. Second time the W&M coach seemed to call them on it, but they didn't change it.

Brock has got to get his elbow up on his release. The deep balls are floating on him because of his mechanics. Wanna bet the coaches pick up on that as well. Almost looks like a shot put.

Was the call on Dickerson justified? I really couldn't tell from where I was.

That was correct... that is the rule in the NCAA.

i think zach should be qb, and i think they called a bad late hit call, and he must of cursed or something after

uh- lets be CAREFUL about pure speculation here. I wouldn't put that out there unless you know for sure that's what happened, bro!

Personnaly, anyone beating on a guy out of bounds and then having the gaul(?) to call the ref a M-F doesn't belong on a Liberty team. Maybe God doesn't care who wins a foorball game but he does care about the conduct of those who are supposed to be a Christian witness.

Now before we start any rumors do we know for sure that's what he did? And if you do, then you would have to have a pretty credible source.

I was thinking the same thing but figured I'd let someone else say it.

Good luck trying to field a competitive football team with 100% of the players having 100% control of their tongue in heated emotional situations at all times. It's a utopian idea at best; even the most pious among us are prone to a slip when fatigue, emotions and frustration are added to the mix.

I'll admit I said a bad word or two after that game. I don't know many people that didn't. First time I'd been mad enough to let those slip in a long time.

the gaul(?)
Since #10 asked...

Gall--(n.) the trait of being rude and impertinent; inclined to take liberties or
(n.) a feeling of deep and bitter anger and ill-will

Gaul--(n.) an ancient region of western Europe that included what is now northern Italy and France and Belgium and part of Germany and the Netherlands.

Yes there is a defense for our kicker, he is human and he missed. However, to sit there and say HE cost us the game is ridiculous. Sure they both left what 10 pts on the board? How many over thrown passes and dropped passes did we have? How many points did the ENTIRE offense leave on the board? Two TD's at least I recall.
BOTTOM LINE: Our team does not know how to win! That is not a completely fatal problem, but not a suprising one either. They have been beat down for the last years for many different reasons. When you add to that a roster of D1 transfers who were necessarily the "stars" of their team you have a chemistry problem. It is going to take some time to "teach" them how to win. It can and has been done in the past, and I have no reason to doubt the Coach Rocco can get that done.
As for the "gaul" to use foul language, I have two thoughts. If you look at the type of players that we have brought in, then we shouldn't be suprised if that type of conducts occurs. I do disagree that this is something that can not be curbed. The coach I played for might be what you would call intense. But he had his rules one of which "If you can't control your mouth you can't control your game." If he heard ANY swearing (Crap, and Frick were allowed) he would not get mad he would just blow his whistle put us on the line and run us.........ALOT!!!! That way we held each other accountable. Not that I would know... :D .... but he REALLY didn't like someone to use the F word during a game. My legs STILL are sore from that one.

Dickerson did not curse at the Ref, i am a friend of a certain senior on the team and they said that he was just upset at what happened, a bad call by the ref, and cursed out loud, not directed at anyone. He also told me Rocco is making him write an apology to the referee who said he called him a m-fer. and he also told me Rocco is making dickerson sit out a couple series at the beginning of the GW game. :( considering the nature of the situation, its not hard to imagine a slip of the tongue, i mean the game WAS on the line if he got the first down ya know? i think we all need to not be so critical, i know i've cursed before in a football game in the heat of battle

At Liberty we have to TRY to uphold a higher standard. Words slip ... but it doesnt excuse it. I'm sure he has learned his lesson and and will be a better man for it.

wow, a slip of tongue and he doesn't belong on the football team. It is his job to hold his tongue, but we don't kick the kicker off the team for messing up on his job

Well, if we are to kick someone off the football team for swearing we would eventually have to kick him out of school.....If that is not the case, then football is more important than the school. If everyone who slipped at Liberty were kicked out of school, then the attendance would be far lower. Give us a break who ever posted that nonsense...
