FYI - I think this kid plays for Great Bridge High School... not Western Branch. Unless he just transferred, which I don't think he did considering the article below provides a reference from 3 weeks ago.
As far as analysis, he has an excellent deep ball, great touch on the fade, and a decent fastball. I like his pocket presence, and he is mobile enough to move the pocket under pressure and still keep his eyes downfield and square to his target if he has to throw on the run.
Forbidden...what's your analysis?

Not to be the next BJ and start evaluating QB's on a message board but this kid is incredible.
35 seconds in and again at the 2:10 mark, he makes NFL throws.
His footwork is remarkable for a HS QB. At times, he reminds me of a taller Russell Wilson.
The only knock I would have is that he sits in the pocket a little too long. He had a couple of plays in there where it took him 5 seconds to throw the ball. That however, is very very coachable.
Honestly, I'm not sure how he's only a 2 star on Rivals.

Didn't even have to watch all of this to say, OFFER HIM NOW, get your name out there get him here on an official he looks really good.
This kid has def been coached up, has good size, IMO a faster JOSH Woodrum
really good pocket awareness, does tend to tap them feet a bit much but sure that can be coached
I really love that on all his sprint outs how he gets his shoulders square to the target and going downhill.
He looks extremely ACCURATE, looks like he knows where to go with the ball presnap, based on coverage alignments
I really like his shoulder fakes, which is buying his WR's that extra sec or so to become open.
This kid drops it right in the bucket
*He does seem to hold the ball a half a number to low, it looks like a good speed rush DE can get to it, he starts off mid then hitches to a high release point.
He will have his choice of schools, so best try and get in early, especially standing 6-2 even though says 6-3
look at the looks of dejection and body language as this kid is dropping bombs against these other teams. And he is playing some legit comp down there near the beach. Quite evident his coaches love to put the ball in the air.

The 757 puts out a good number of top notch D1 talent forbidden. you're probably matching up with at least 2 or 3 4+ star recruits on a weekly basis

First of all, the kid can play. I was at most of the home games this fall and some of his throws shocked me. The Grassfield game (team in red when GB is wearing the hideous yellow and green unis) was a showcase for him. He was on point all night with some crazy reads in really important spots in the game. It does help that the RB was a complete beast, so a lot of teams were doing some stacking, but still... I say we take a long, hard look at him.
Also, and more importantly, why is my classroom light on in several of the highlights? I'm going to need to see the security camera footage.

Need to make an offer before the big boys take notice; probably look at a couple of those players on O-Line as well. Seemed like he was barely bothered in the pocket on most of those plays

Nice talent.
The goalpost in background at about 6:56 cracks me up.

We have seen some offers be handed out on Junior Day the past couple of seasons. If he camps with us, the odds of an offer go up considerably.

It looks weird from that angle because the flag pole at the far corner of the field is aligned perfectly with the goalpost.
My gosh. I've spent WAY too much time running circles around that field...

Just watched this again. I remember the play at about 1:00 really clearly. Felt the pressure, scrambled to his right. Most guys would have just taken off at that point. He kept his head up and then set himself for a really nice throw.
That was early in the season and it was the first time I thought "Woah, we might have something pretty special here."

Jacob is my son and I really appreciate the kind words in this thread. Yes, Jacob has great interest in Liberty. Actually, it is one of my favorites because of the phenomenal facilities Liberty has on their campus. The recruiting process has really just started to get busy for him. Big schools like WVU, NC State, BC etc really like his film but they all want to see him throw live. So, we are trying to make that happen for him. I have been blessed because he is such a great kid and he works so hard every day trying to get better. He would be ecstatic with an offer from Liberty and we all hope that it happens some day soon.
BTW- He did transfer to Western Branch this semester under circumstances out of his control. But, he is pretty excited about his new teammates/coaches and learning a whole different offense. Hopefully, by the time his senior season has started, he will have already chosen a school and he can just enjoy trying to win a state championship. We would all just be thrilled if that school was Liberty! Thanks again for all the kind words...especially the "coached up" part because that was my job since he was about 6 years old.

Thanks for giving us the lowdown, Hooks. You should be very proud of your son. feel free to hang around as the process continues whether he winds up coming to LU or not.

I believe the captain of the first LU team in 1973, was a graduate of Western Branch, Chip Smith. He is also a member of the LU Hall of Fame. Hopefully we can get a bit of history to repeat itself. Welcome aboard, sounds like you have a great son.

Hooks, Jacob has the potential to be a star wherever he goes. I think he can give our QB battle a real shot in the arm, because our situation is still pretty fluid for 2016 I think, with Masha no shoo-in to be the starter

Welcome to the board! I really really hope your son chooses Liberty. He could be part of something special. But WVU isn't a bad back up plan

Hey, I feel I do an "ok" job of judging talent albeit mostly a different position but still observing nonetheless, that is why I was stating we should be offering now, because there is no way that if some of the "big names" come calling it makes it that much harder to have to battle. The one thing I do know is that kids do favor alot of the schools that "offer" first because of a little sense of loyalty, not always but sometimes. You sir, have a decent looking kid, hope it all works out for him and your family. Good Ole Western Branch Bruins, 10 min from my Grands, spent one year down there cpl years beforer Dre' Bly did his thing

Liberty QB coach visited Jacob at his school a few weeks ago. Jacob really liked him a lot. Yes, he plans to attend Liberty camp in Va Beach in June. He attended the camp last year and that is where they first got acquainted.
In regards to getting that offer out in front of the bigger schools....I think that theory has real merit. But, I think a kid already has to have an interest in that specific school that is offering 1st. For example, Jacob has 2 offers and it really hasn't had a huge impact on him because the chances of him attending either of those schools is probably close to zero. However, he does have 6 schools in his mind right now that he is REALLY hoping will offer him--Liberty, ODU, Richmond, NC State, WVU and Delaware. Geography, familiarity and their level of demonstrated interest in him are probably the cumulative driving factors of why he has those specific 6 schools in his head. Because he already has an expressed interest in Liberty. If they offered today, that would immediately vault them to the top and he may never look back. So, I do think the idea of early offers is extremely valid when a kid is already sincerely interested in the school.
I am a West Virginia grad. So, he has been going to Morgantown 2-3 times every season since he was 2. Both of his parents/grandparents and every relative of his--WVU fans. Currently, WVU is by far showing the most interest. 2 coaches and a GA sometimes communicating with him more than once a day. So, obviously that is where his heart is swollen. But, I am trying real hard to explain the business side and that he has no offer from WVU as of today. Yes, they are expressing a bunch of interest and playing to his heart strings. But, I am trying to get him to see that he is obviously a back up plan to one of those 4 star offers they have out right now. Up until recently, a wvu offer would have been a dream come true to me...but, as time draws near to choosing a school, is that the right place for him? Will he get lost in the shuffle up there? Those questions will need to be answered by him. But, as WVU dangles that carrot in front of him...if Liberty came in and told him they want and need him in their program. I honestly think everything changes immediately. But, right now there really is nothing else distracting him from WVU and they are putting on quite a show. I thought I would enjoy this process...but, I can't wait until it is over.
Believe me, I have been selling Liberty. Tech in 2016, Baylor in 17. Samantha Steele video. Mom loves the religious environment. Dad likes the conservative culture. Maybe a real chance to compete for playing time. Less than 3 hours from home. Beautiful stadium. Great coaches. Whats not to love about Liberty!? But, they have to offer and they may never offer. But, I am glad I found this website...Liberty fans are great!
