I'm hearing that we offered him based on his hard-hitting as a defender ...

Victory Christian running back and linebacker Jaylyn McKinney verbally committed on Monday to attend school and play football for Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va.

The 6-foot-1, 215-pound senior recorded 79 tackles (49 solo) during the Storm's state championship season. He also rushed for 587 yards and seven touchdowns.

"I viewed the campus, met the coaches and it seemed like a perfect fit," McKinney said.

McKinney played two years of varsity football at Victory and two at Frostproof. He also claimed offers from Mississippi State, FIU and Iowa State. He plans to study business management.

Agree with this but I would not be surprised if he ended up at either position, although running back seems most likely at first blush with DJ and Des graduating in 2016

Sorry to be the downer here, but : His offer from Mississippi state is something he is claiming, and I havent seen that confirmed anywhere,

Like others, I want to see his NLI.

If my skepticism is proven unwarranted, YAY! Go Flames.

The schools aren't allowed to tell you who they have offered, so where do the recruiting sites get the info they post? From the players, and some of them have been known to be less than totally honest. If they say they have an offer from a major program, another may think, well if he is good enough for them, he is good enough for us, and make an offer. I have no reason to believe this kid is doing that, but it's something that is hard to verify due to NCAA restrictions on what schools can say about who they are recruiting.

I'm a member on rivals for UVA and they tell about most if not every offer that UVA gives out. so I don't know that it's a big secret about who the schools offer or an NCAA rule that they can't tell.

It is definately a violation for schools to talk about who they have offered, but that is not saying some of that is not leaked out. In this day and age, I would say the vast majority of that info comes from the athletes, and most of that through Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc.

Some does come from the schools, but think about it. How does it benefit them to leak that info, and is it worth the risk of violating NCAA regs? Most of it comes from the athletes. A lot of them make a tweet for every offer.
