Prospects

As I look around at some of the other schools prospects, I wonder sometimes are we not going to the same schools as some of the other recruiters or what, the one thing that has me wondering is why we don't have no "big" 6'4 6'5 type guys but as I look around at other competing schools they tend to have these. I was using WR as an example but just wondering in general for all positions?

That really comes down to who is on their radar and that isnt something we really know except when Sly launches the prospect threads. hopefully we have another round of updates here soon with the seasons wrapping up across the country

well maybe the radar needs to havea wider range, we claim we don't want to miss things but it seems that we do, some of these kids are coming from schools that are known to produce talent.

Maybe...but do bear in mind that every year come signing day we get one or two kids that were "under the radar" as far as FlameFans is concerned

Many of those super high talent kids either don't want to play for a school like Liberty or don't want to play in the Big South.

This definitely...getting a Chris Summers like we did a few years ago really came down to a couple of different things working in our favor

I don't think I would trade our top 4 or 5 WRs next year for any other group in FCS.

LOL, well pls tell me who our top 4/5 WRS are, I don't even think our coaches know who they are. I still think the WR to look out for will be BJ Farrow, something tells me, he will be LEGIT as long as he can get on the field.
I for one besides Petey would love to have some of the WR's from Coastal, or for that matter some from Indiana State

Petey has a chance to play Sundays for sure. Gabe really broke out as a slot threat in the latter third of the year, especially when teams focused so much on Petey, and he will definitely be missed. Dante really had a "coming out" party as a receiver this year.(yes PH I know...phrasing) and as long as he is healthy will be an excellent #2 for us. I'm curious about McCarter, DK, Fritts, Parker and the rest heading into spring practice

Speaking of prospects, anyone know where I can get some info on European prospects?

Top 4/5 would come from the group of Petey, BJ Farrow, Shells, Justin Fritts, Ryan McCarter, Zac Parker and Dakota Kelly. I think Farrow will be a difference maker, and if Shells is actually healthy, those 2 plus Petey will all be guys we can target. Having either Zac or Dakota step up in the slot will be important. Personally, I'd love to see Zac win that job this spring because of the explosiveness he would bring.
Mapp and Isreal of CCU are back and both are really good, but they are not big studs like you are talking about either at 6 foot nothin each. All of our wideouts (not the slot guys) are 6'2".

Not a joke. Our starting LT Max Summer comes from Germany and we have had at least one German player on our roster for the past 8 years or so, and as as many as 3. Francis Bah was a starter on the DL (when he wasn't injured) and Soeren Wendland started at OT a few years ago

I know this much for sure if Bruce Mapp was here he would be our #2 WITHOUT question and could compliment Petey well. Prior to his injury vs NoDakSt, he was giving them that business. If there was another WR on the roster this year that could have legitly pushed for the number 2 Shells would have possibly been pushed out. His speed is his goto, he can stretch the field, McCarter who im not sure where is at post injury mentally hasnt been on the field much and Fritts for some reason hasn't been able to really crack the WR lineup, just on ST. Don't know much about Farrow, but like I said if he is anything like his film and can learn the system then I think that will solve alot and hopefully gets ALL the WR's to push each other

it's an inside thing, not bashing any of the players, I KNOW they can play.

Our WR group next year will be very very good across the board. Lining up Shells, Petey, and Farrow will be hard to defend in FCS. I think Dalota has a huge upside. I'm not yet sold on Parker. I'm told Isaac Brown is the fastest guy on the team and look out for Freshman Kyle Carrington. I'm hearing he has the potential to be incredible. And then there is McCarter and Fritts who we still need to see something from but have a lot of talent. A lot of FCS schools would love out WRs.

That is a nice lineup there, IMO, Dakota and Zac neither have done anything, Zac would seem to have more wiggle, Dakota a better route runner. Brown is NOT the fastest on this team. Carrington will have to be super special to climb the WR charts. McCarter not sure if 100 back from the injury, but heard he has best hands and Fritts I am not sure why he cant crack the lineup at WR in some capacity. You say that like our WR's are or have all put up great numbers. Aside from Petey, not sure if this group would get the same love that your giving them.

Im curious what he means by "issues with his previous high school". Academics?

alot of times up here they take classes from previous schools that actually don't count toward your overall curricullum grade, and he may not have all his HS credits, which then make him ineligible for college eligibilty.
