Following the Chuck South debacle some of us were calling for his job. Now he is named national FCS assistant coach of the year by the NFCA, and it's hard to say he doesn't deserve it.

There is a TON of politics in these AFCA votes so it is difficult to win.
Congrats on the great accomplishment!

With his performance the past 2 weeks, he certainly earned it. Congrats to Coach Wimbo.

Wimbo does so much more than coach a position or defense. The dude is one of the most organized people I've ever met in my life. His structures have structures. I could go on and on and on about how happy I am for him to get this but no one wants to hear me gush like that.

I bet I could think of one poster who would enjoy it.
I am glad others have more patience then I have.

Congrats to coach Wimbo on a job well done! Defense peaking at just the right time.

So, what you are saying is, if you happened to have a HC who some people feel is NOT particularly organized, it would be a sign of great LEADERSHIP for him to hire someone who had that strength as one of his top assistants. Right?

Gill can't operate without guys like Wimbo around. It was a great move bringing him back from Kansas. In my opinion, for us to maximize Gill's strengths, I think we need someone like a Wimbo in an Associate Head Coach role running the day-to-day of the program. That gives us all of the positives of Gill and fills in the negatives. It'd be a win win.
