If not, what will it take?

I think first it'll take an overall upgrade in scheduling in the non-conference. We really can't have anybody (looking at you CSU) scheduling outside of D1. I know we made that determination (waiting on that last home game), and CCU has made that determination...and im guessing that GWU is headed that way as well. Second, we need to do what we have started doing this year, and beat more quality opponents from the stronger conferences. (The SoCon is down this year I know).

We can schedule all the FCs schools we want. We actually have to beat the,. I have no problem with what CSU is doing. They are trying to build something and scheduling wins to offset the FBS games is a good way to do it. I mean, we sorta did the same thing

Then why are you criticizing other schools who do the same thing we did?

More because we are making an actual attempt to better our schedule after those years. yes, we played our share of sub-D1 programs over the years post-Karcher, but we are starting to make strides (starting with this year) to play some better teams in the non-conference, and now we are looking at an all D1 schedule from here on out. while CSU is rebuilding, if they want to be taken seriously as an at-large, they are going to need to take the same step we are

If we can come close to the OOC success leaguewide that we enjoyed this year, we might even be a 3-bid conference in 2015. A victory by either us or the Chants on saturday would solidify what the numbers already state.

Liberty and Coastal should be playoff teams every year.

We are not even close, as someone probably pointed out. Liberty and Coastal carry the entire conference, and with Liberty (hopefully) leaving in the near future, you're left with Coastal Dominating the big south. Furthermore, there are not enough quality wins against mid major FBS team among big south teams to consider a two bod set up. I think is Chucky south would step up for a couple years and play some quality ball, them we might start considering the two-bid idea. As of right now the big south is just too bad to be two bid

I would have agreed with nearly everythign you said ... a year ago. The Big South was 22-5 against FCS competition out of conference in 2014.\ according to our commish on TV the other night. Even Monmouth and Presby were securing quality wins out of conference this year.

This. Although I do think that it will require more than just one season to validate it. I have trouble relying on CSU, GWU, Monmouth, and Presbyterian to build the Big South into two bid conference....

I'm glad the Big South is adding Kennesaw State; hopefully they decide to add North Alabama too. After Kennesaw State gets running full speed, the Big South will definitely be a two bid conference.

If they want to be taken seriously, they are going to have to upgrade their schedules going forward, and then win those matchups consistently. there are plenty of at least decent FCS opponents down in that region
