Superjon, completely understand your sentiments. Being a golfer, I have prayed for sunny weather when I'm sure much more Godly men than I were were praying for rain to help their crops so they could feed their family.

Having said that, I would much rather see victories and such credited to God than have the credit laid at the feet of Karma as has been the case in the victory against CCU.

As soon as he said that I cringed, not so much because of what he said, but how it was going to be misconstrued by some. He was so emotional/excited, I think it just came out. The rest of what he said was fabulous, especially about former players.

God doesn't care directly who wins or loses any game. His rules for life do have a tendency to commonly reward victory to those who follow them, but even that isn't always consistent with the scoreboard.

I know a debate wasn't the intent of this thread, but given my career I couldn't pass this up. I cannot stand it when Christians pray for wins. God doesn't care about a scoreboard.

There are Christians on every team i would imagine.

Congrats on the championship, it was there time, they battled hung in there and got lucky. A lot of years of hard work and sacrifice went into this.

TY...I know he is the almighty and all that but just so that I am on the right page, what number does he wear for LU, or for that matter for any team since its almost the first thing that everyone spews out there mouth when something good happens. In my opinion, however, MOST of the time Christians are silent about their faith because of fear of criticism - either from people around them that they know don't share their belief or from other "Christians" who prefer silence and are uncomfortable when others do speak.

You are the one insinuating that He does. I am unable to provide you with a chapter or verse because there are none saying that He does care. The closest 'sports' reference in Scripture is about running a race in Hebrews 12:1. It does not exhort victory, just completion. I brought up Sport popular at the time of Christ and Paul as examples of things that could have been referenced 'Behold, Tiberius, the Charioteer, his faith has led to favor and victory at the arena." But there is nothing referenced in Scriptutre about God bestowing His favor for a victor in an athletic contest.
So basically, you ask a trick question in trying to prove a negative. I'll ask you (and since this is a public forum, anyone else) to provide Biblical source to prove the assertion otherwise. Proving God cares who wins or loses any particular any game
